Blount a no-show at practice

According to Mosley's blog Blount didn't show at practice today, not a huge shock, but disappointing no less

As was Petersons statement that no suspension for Huot. The video board operator was suposedly talked to and apologized, and said to have been discplined...( quiet time with Peterson to reflect on the error of his ways?)...no word on whether the fans in altercation with Blount have been identified,...rest assured I feel confident they will be and consequentially forced to have some time with Peterson sharing tea and crumpets while addressed as to the error of their ways.

Some time with Peterson?!? Big deal. They're hoping for time with Peterson so they can get off light.

Although there is no suspension for Hout and it looks like BSU got away pretty easy on this whole incident I think the worst is yet to come for that team. What team in their right mind is going to agree to play them at home now??! No one decent at least... they will be stuck in purgatory (the WAC) forever... without a decent win on their future schedules, how will they ever improve their station in the college football world?!? I have an answer, they wont. They wont have another marquee team on their home schedule for a looooooooooooong time. I wouldnt be surprised to see OSU cancel their game there next season...

I hope the reason he wasn't at practice was because he was meeting with an attorney to file a petition to the NCAA for this crock of a punishment for defending himself.

Details are unknown to us. It is possible that Chip kept him out today to deal with the team on this issue as well as their own efforts on Thursday. Blount sounded like a team player through the week-end to me. I would hope we don't drop to the level of the Beaver fans and judge his every action as representing his (& the Ducks in general) character.

If we "leave it alone already" justice will never be served! You don't sweep something like this under the rug. This is why we live in America and have the freedoms we do. We stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

Blount defended himself....the video clearly shows this! Watch....put your glasses on and then watch it again....then turn your monitor on and watch it again. The proof is in the video.

Blount should have walked away, the moment he decided to use his fists was the moment that he deserved to punished.

Seriously...let it go, he's not coming back

I wish Blount the best of luck, but none of his actions were appropriate regardless of what was said or done. Put aside the Hout contact, you don't swing at assistant coaches and you don't hit players on your own team. You also don't try to attack fans of the other team no matter what they say.

I don't recall ever hearing that Jackie Robinson or Jesse Owens or anyone else beat up fans and they had it much much much much much...worse

Jackie Robinson and Jesse Owens lived in a time that they would have been lynched for defending themselves. Thank goodness we have progressed far beyond that...or have we!

That doesn't make his punishment just...The length is unprecedented for the actions...Aaron Brooks' punch was premeditated and without provocation yet he got 2 games?...There are many others...I'm as die hard of a duck fan as you will ever find and I can not stand them right now...I will be there Saturday but feel that if this is the direction we're heading in under new management the darkest days for this program, that we all love and have such high hopes for and the direction upwards towards high national stature and an eventual national championship that we were on, have not been seen.
