Slow?

Post by UOducksTK1 »

Boards have been pretty slow considering we are just a day before gameday. There was much more excitement going into the Purdue and Boise State games. What gives?

Is there just not anything to talk about? Have duck fans already given up on this team? Or perhaps it's just this board?

Kinda curious what the overall vibe is from everyone going into this game, and why things are so slow these last couple days.

I don't think it's the board... I have noticed a lack of activity both here and on a couple other boards, as far as serious discussion goes.

Maybe its that the jury is still out on this team?!? If we win on Sat I bet the boards will liven up...

Yeah, I thought it would pick up too, but it does seem slow. How is the traffic to site? Is the same or increased? Are more people coming just not posting?

Maybe people are tired of being killed for sharing info or having a differing view.
Just a thought...

I had a guest over this week ... otherwise you'd be hearing plenty from me.

We do have a lot of "observers" that don't ever post, but log in daily. So maybe that's it, but this place was rocking just last week and the week before. Traffic is about the same, but I'll try to spread the word about this forum a bit more.

I'm not overly concerned, just a bit curious to why this is happening.

I had a wedding as well last Saturday 1212. Who has a wedding on a September Saturday?!?! Not sure I'll ever fully forgive them. I'm stoked for tomorrow as it will be my home opener.
And I think someone nailed it when they said we still don't know what to expect from this team yet. We've been prognasticating this team all summer.......and I'm not sure we know much more now than we did then. Although the second half of the Purdue game, which I watched on DVR, damn wedding, did give me some encouragement on our O.

I've been somewhat busy & haven't had much time to be on the computer but as for everyone else, I think people are really just in a wait & see mode. People don't like being dissapointed & don't want to get excited & emotionally invested in a team that may end up dissapointing them. Of course, that's what being a fan is all about but the reality is that the majority of people aren't real "fans".

I'm incredibley excited & will be back destroying my vocal chords(they still haven't recovered from last week  ) chearing on the Ducks tomorrow. There's a ton of room for improvement & I think we will see a lot of it with each game. A win over Utah sets up a very nice match up with Cal. Don't write off the Ducks yet!

Would that be a ton of room for improvement in cheering , team play, or both?

I'm one of the newbie lurkers to this site. I don't usually post much in internet forums, just read to get others perspectives. This thread intrigued me to the point of posting. Here's my take:

This season was overhyped to begin with. You simply cannot start with a new O line of underclassmen with no game experience and expect to challenge for the BCS. Then reality hits with Boise State. Is this offense and it's line that bad or we're they simply unprepared? The latter is my opinion.

Then we have the post-game debacle. No need to discuss this further.

Week 2...agianst a Purdue team that is better than most people think the team regains some composure, bends but does not break, offense still slow, but we get the victory. Most importantly the team seemed to show some toughness and resiliency when it mattered.

Week 3...we're all hella nervous and anxious. We want good Duck Football, yet this train seems to be still stuck at the station. There are simply too many unanswered questions which is making the topic of 2009 Duck Football a difficult topic for fans so far this year. I believe this Utah game will be lively and we'll begin to see a more clear picture of who this team is.

Good or Bad, this weekend is big!

At this point both of those things. The crowd was weak agaisnt Purdue. Which is understandable since a lot of people were hoping/expecting a blow out.
