Looks like Oregon is still in it for former commit Dave Iuli. It'll be interesting to see what Lanning, Klemm, Tuioti and Lupoi can do with him.

I read a long article about Mirabal. In retrospect it’s crazy we thought Cristobal and him would stay instead of going home if the money was comparable. Dude loves Miami, and he’s a very good coach. I was surprised to read that he actually did play offensive line in high school. He weighed 215 and was a starter at Columbus high school at left guard, next to Cristobal at LT. But the demand for 5’3” or whatever he is 215 pound anything has never been high.

I can’t blame Dave if he wants to play for them. I like him more as a prospect now than I did when he initially committed, but if the guys we have pan out it shouldn’t be an issue on OL. Cristobal checked out on us, and it’s difficult for me to understand recruits who are okay with a coach saying “hey don’t go to the place I recruited you to and I abandoned, here is better” - Jevon Holland talked about that happening with Willie Taggart, and telling him that if he’s being honest with him now it means he was lying to him earlier and he didn’t want to play for someone like that.

Sounds like the DucksAttack crystal balls are about universally Miami. haha (I'm in agreement, as I think I said in another thread)

Said it in another thread, I sure hope so. Don't know why I personally don't feel good about this one. Like I said, I hope I am totally wrong. Will gladly acknowledge it publicly.

Pulling Iuli back from Mario's clutches would be quite a coup. It's nice to have home court advantage for a change. I wonder if the change of heart has anything to do with Mario's hiring problems.

While I’m enjoying the Miami fans losing a tiny bit of faith in Mario, I think we all know he’s the type that:
A. Can close with the best for them at the last minute.
B. Is petty enough (see 2021 Washington post game speech) to have the recruit put up a smoke screen to the recruiting reporters to make a show of it.

Obviously a good sign for Oregon, but I prefer cautious optimism. Klemm, Lupoi, and Lanning are recruiting aces but Mario is at least their equal.

One of the Miami insiders, David Lake, just CB'd him to Oregon today fwiw...

As long as he doesn't end up at USC, I'm happy.
