Oregon has received the commitment from 4* 2023 CB Caleb Presley. One of the more creative reveals with him blowing out a candle on a cake. Big get as he's now the 2nd straight top player in the state of WA to choose Oregon.

Love this commitment! Go ducks! He’s gonna be a really good one, I think he’s underrated even as a high 4 star. Perfect fit for Lanning and Tosh.

Looks like he's going to be visiting UW this weekend. This is going to be a tight one down the stretch as UW has kept on him ever since his commitment and will be using their likely Rose Bowl appearance heavily here.

Never like late visits to the hometown school. He still hasn’t taken his official to Oregon yet so hopefully we get the last visit and close the deal.

Getting the likely last visit is the best case scenario for Oregon.

It sucks to let USC and UW back into the recruiting game. It has been a great few years of being able to sign most of the top west coast kids that wanted to stay home in the West.

I think Presley flips to washington and Oregon lands Solomon Davis, who just decommitted from Arizona.

Any insider information behind this, or just a guess. Would suck to lose him, I think someone else mentioned he still hasn’t used an official for the UO yet. Maybe we can get him for the last visit.

You may be right here. Although, I think Solomon plays the nickle and pressley CB. (but you're prob right)

I think it’s genuinely up in the air now. UW’s feel was if he didn’t commit and shutdown his recruitment after his visit to Seattle then he’d probably still end up a Duck. NIL is playing a big role, and UW can’t match Oregon.

Going to respond to these but leave out quoting for time's sake.

No insider info, just reading tea leaves. Sadly, this is my... 11th year following recruiting? When you see unexpected movement, like new offers or last-minute visits with recruits who weren't really on the radar, it means your team missed on someone else. So when Oregon planned a sudden visit with Davis, you look around and see who they may be not getting, and Presley seems like the likely candidate.

To them playing different positions - this coaching staff has said they view DBs as* interchangeable. I don't like that view, personally, but that's their view when recruiting.

Presley could have silent committed on the uw visit, and is waiting around for some video or other production to be made. If the Davis/Presley recruitments are connected, it would imply that our staff already knows Presley ain't coming.

This could all just be messageboard fodder, but we'll see.
