I'm going to be real pissed if he turns out to be a baller. REAL pissed.

If our new WR coach can eliminate the dropped passes, then I will be OK with the loss. I would rather have a team full of WR's that catch the ball.

And to think we are lighting up the very same coach that just led us to 694 yards in the Civil war game and 65 pts. Leading one of the most feared juggernauts of an offense in the country, all because he lost one recruit. Shame on you Chip.

It is better the kids know about the change prior to the commit, otherwise we lied to the kid. Pflu couldn't teach those kids how to catch. I don't have an issue with his firing.

You lose some you win some. In this case we lost Wheaton to our rivals. When we get Boyd, Harris, Gaines, and some other recruits we will all feel a little better I imagine.

If we lose out on a single recruit when Alliotti finally goes, you can bet for damn sure I won't mind!

I don't think it's a coincidence that the two positions we are having the most trouble attracting recruits (WR and DT) are also the two positions that have unsettled coaching situations. Why would you want to commit to a school if you have no idea who is going to be coaching you?

It is turning out that letting these coaches go before signing day was a bad idea and has definately effected recruiting for this year. Although, it's probably more ethical this way so the kids don't commit only to have the rug pulled out from under them.

To some extent, the recruiting problem for these positions (WR & DT) this year is due to the job performance of the coaches during the past couple of year to some extent or another.

If I were a recruit looking hard at Oregon and saw that they were attempting to find a better coach at my postion I wouldn't run away but maybe look even harder.

Guess it's all perspective with this stuff.

Pflu wasn't a great coach anyway. Wheaton couldn't have built relationships with the other coaches and players at Oregon? IMO, not enough to justify switching from a school like Oregon to Oregon State.

A relationship with your position coach is huge to the majority of kids because that is really the one who will be your coach and you will have a relationship with them more than you will with a head coach or coordinator.

Great point. We have some good wide recievers, they just can't seem to live up to their potential. I welcome a change, and if Wheaton is the only recruit we lose because of it, I'm not worried.

Exactly. This will pay bigger dividends in the long run that will far outweigh the loss of a 3* WR. Phlugrad developed some great WRs at wazzu, it seemed like they had 1 top level WR every year, but he never developed anyone like that here. I welcome the change also.

By the time Phlu arrived at Oregon, he had to keep one eye on his daughter rather than all attention on the recievers.

Or, the receivers spent too much time keeping on eye on his daughter, hence all of the dropped passes.
