Oregon has gotten another OL for the 2023 class, this time from 3* Gernorris Wilson out of FL, a former Auburn commit. He's going to be visiting officially in December and is planning to enroll in January.

Really loading up on 3* OL. An interesting strategy....

Does this mean we aren’t getting Proctor?

I feel like Oregon's best OL units are always comprised of 3*'s, Walk-Ons, JC's, etc. Yes, it's wonderful anding blue chip talent but Penei Sewell felt like he was the exception and not the rule. Give me an OL coach who can develop and a lineman with good feet, and we're set.

Proctor is someone they'd take in a heartbeat. You have to remember the 25 recruit/transfer limit per signing class isn't around any more and they can take as many players as they think they need as long as they're down to 85 by the time fall camp starts.

I think this was discussed in a thread about one of our other low rated OL commits but yeah, other than the obvious blue-chips OL recruiting is kind of a crapshoot. So man guys end up dealing with injuries and other development issues. Like you mentioned, we’ve had incredible lines full of low ranked guys. Many of whom went on to long NFL careers.

That said, at the T spots you still need top end talent to have an elite line. Which is why we need to finish with Proctor.

Having the next couple of years with Proctor and Connerly would be an incredible foundation.

I am also really liking the Interior OL. Iuli will be a dude. Jackson Powers Johnson will be a great C.

He seems like a High 3* based on what I've seen of him at RT.

He's got good feet, needs better hand placement but he can stay low and drive block and his mirror technique looks pretty decent. Doesn't look to be carrying any bad weight for a HS OL so while he's not likely to replace Sala next year at RT, he could be a 2-3 year starter once he settles in.

He's a wrestler who was one match from going to state last year so that might explain some of it.
