Soooooo let me get this straight? Wheaton & Phlugrad developed a love affair, and now since phlugrad is out as WR coach Wheaton decided too go elsewhere? My question is why the H*** do the other coaches not get involved and get some bonding time with the recruit rather than just one coach???? C.K. or whoever else needs to fly their ass wherever the recruits are and develop some kind of relationship with these kids also, instead of just one guy. Sounds like C.K is flying all over the States trying to catch the " big fish " and it seems like we are losing out on 3 % 4 stars? I guess i cold have summerized my thoughts on this that if C.K. knew he was firing Phlugrad why not get over to Wheaton or any other recruit asap and hopefully develop a reationship with that recruit so we won't lose him?

Same could be said for Bellotti. Let's not forget that he's still number 1 around here.

Possilby CK is not as excited about Wheaton as Pflu was. I'm sure if he was he would have made an effort to reassure the kid. This could be telling us why Pflu is not in Chip's long term plans. They just don't see eye to eye on things.

CK did go see Wheaton and talk to him afterword, but apparently wasn't enough and didn't have the bond that Phlu did.

All Pflu should have done was introduce Wheaton to his daughter.

It's recruiting, it happens. Hopefully the coaches learn a lesson and are better in following years because of it.

Guys, let's relax. The recurring theme for the last few recruiting seasons has been that we need WR's and D-linemen. It's no coincidence that these are the coaches we're looking to replace. While it looks like we missed on Wheaton because Pflu won't be here in the future, we wouldn't be as worried about getting WR or DL help if those coaches had done a better job of recuiting their positions.
When the staff changes were announced a few weeks ago there was speculation that it may cost us a recruit or two this year, but should be worth it in the long run if we were able to bring in position coaches that would do a better job with recruiting.
Such is life
