Doesn't signing start on 12/21? How did Teitum sign already?

Players who've graduated HS/JC and intend on enrolling early can technically sign early so they can start practicing with the team for bowl practices. They just can't play in the bowl game.

Technically can’t JC recruits or recruits that graduated early participate in the bowl game since it doesn’t count towards eligibility? I heard Nico is practicing with Tennessee and may play in the bowl game.

They aren't going play guys with so few practices under their belts. Plus, I think the NCAA still said early enrollees can't play in the current season.

Cornelius likely won't be committed until after Lanning speaks to the media on ESD.

This recruiting class seems to be heading in the wrong direction quickly. It’s suddenly starting to feel like Oregon football before the Mario era, where Oregon is always #2.

The era where our classes actually produced a ton of talent though. Mario’s classes were massive duds.

Finishing 2nd for four 5*s hurts but this is still a really good class, and I actually trust this staff’s ability to evaluate talent.

Nike walked away from good athletes when their competitors threw crazy money at them because Nike was shrewd and didn't want to overpay. The NIL deals for unproven talent are crazy and I wonder if Phil wants to wait for it to settle down. If Ty Thompson was a senior in HS this year, someone would have paid him $5 million+ in NIL, and would have gotten burned. My guess is boosters are going to take a step back in a couple years after they throw millions at talent that doesn't work out.

Give me development over chasing stars any day of the week. The way the staff developed Bo Nix this year gives me a lot of confidence in their ability to coach up talent. Don't fall in love with the stars, there's a lot of things you can't measure.

Agree! I think we should be throwing NIL money at proven players in the portal! They have lower risk/rewards than that of 4-5 star HS players.
