He visited Oregon last weekend, and loved his visit. He's still schedule to visit Miami then Arkansas the next two weekends

Just look at that size. Oregon has been recruiting some big OL the last few years.

Well that was quick! I'd ignore the three stars, Manning is the real deal. Tons of potential.

For sure, when it comes to recruiting, the first position I personally think ratings aren’t a good indicator of college success is QB, with OL being #2. I’m sure the coaches know what they’re doing and they aren’t star chasing.
Not to get too off topic, I wonder if someone ever did a study as to what position 5 stars are most likely to succeed at the college level to what position is the least likely, I’d be curious to see that.

I agree OL is tough to get a true handle on in HS. But QB? I bet most of the top QBs every year were also top recruited QBs.
The top 6 QBs drafted this year were 1-5*, 2-4*, 3-5*, 4-5*, 5-4* and 6-5*

Depends on how you measure it. If you're measuring stars against NFL draft order, I'd guess running backs and wide receivers are the most frequently over ranked or mis-ranked.
If we're saying which is the hardest to identify a superstar versus just a contributor, cornerback is my vote, with linebacker as the runner up. High 3* to 5* are almost indistinguishable.
