Interview here with Lanning talking about the O-line troubles.

Not a ton of new stuff here, but the one thing I found interesting was how he discussed Gabriel's pocket presence being different than Bo's and the implication that the line may be struggling to adapt to that.

What exactly is he referring to here? Is he talking about Gabriel wanting to hold onto the ball longer to find a big play? Or is that something else?

From my very limited perspective, seems like Gabriel drops back farther than Nix did, probably because he’s shorter. Nix seemed to step up in the pocket more which made it easier for the tackles. Again I may be way off but I feel like that’s something I noticed, I’m sure someone can correct me.

Hard to say what he might actually be talking about but his comments are certainly plausible. This is basically a re-hash of what he said in his presser last night.

There may be some adjustment/growing pains to Gabriel's style. Gabriel is also a lefty so that means change too.

Dan is beyond obsessed with this stuff so I am going to trust that he will get it figured out.

On a separate note, Crepea said that Bedford practiced today. Does that mean he is full go on Saturday? Hard to say and I am sure Dan will not divulge much in that regard. Clearly they are looking to find the right combo to get some stability on the line.

Hope this is the week they get things ironed out and then as I said in another thread they can go into the bye week and get healthy and get ready for conference play.

1 year transfers are certain positions can be a grind regardless how talented they may be.

I would have to review the footwork, but on a couple of Gabriel's sacks, an experienced watcher of football would have expected him to dodge a certain way and he actually 'dodged' right into the sack. This is especially surprising give how much experience he has at this level. So maybe that is what Coach Lanning is talking about? It is interesting that Lanning really hasn't come down on the O-line publicly and I wonder if he views the problems so far as less their fault than others.

They’re #1 to blame but Gabriel’s pre-snap reads and pocket presence certainly play a role and the lazy TE blocking also plays a huge role. Maybe he views the OLine getting enough hate from the fans/media and figured adding to it won’t do them any good, they’re probably down on themselves enough just seeing their reaction to Sappington’s game winning kick, their morale looks really low.

His elusiveness with us no doubt sucks. Last year he ran for 373 yards and 12 touchdown (Sacked 17 times). We haven't played our 3rd game yet and he's at -38 yards with one score, and has been sacked 7 times.

He only had negative rushing yards in one of his 12 games. And Oklahoma's OL wasn't necessarily a glorious squad.
