It would be really cool to win one of these big games by 3 after all the uw losses. I’ll go with 38-35 Oregon.

I’m sure to nobody’s surprise I think Ohio State will win 35-24, but that didn’t stop me from picking Oregon in the weekly Big Ten predictions, no matter what I think I can’t actually pick Oregon to lose.
I just think Ohio State has too much talent/depth on defense, I see them getting a couple sacks early and it seems to take Gabriel a few drives to recover from a sack so I see his game being affected by the disruptive Ohio State defense. On the other side Ohio State’s WR’s really present a problem with Florence being out. Reed and Manning have really improved this season but I don’t think they’re ready for Smith and Egbuka. The key for Oregon to win this game is the front seven NEEDS to pressure Howard and get in his face all game long and Oregon NEEDS to get off the field on 3rd and long situations. Oregon’s starting DLine to me is the most talented and best in the nation, but outside of Washington there’s a huge drop off when any of them sub out. So they may get tired out in the second half if they aren’t getting off the field. The other key will be Ferguson, technically I don’t think Ohio State has any true “weaknesses” but their LB play has been less than stellar. Ferguson needs to have a great game in the passing and blocking game, he needs to exploit that matchup advantage for Oregon.
I sure hope Saturday night this is quoted by duck fans telling me how wrong I am! I will gladly eat crow for being wrong, that would be some DELICIOUS crow!

I hate to agree with ^^^^^, but I agree. Oregon is gonna lose this one. Oregon has the talent to win, but they haven't played to their talent level yet this season, because of that I gotta say Ohio State by 10. 27-17

Just went through the NCAA team stats:
https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs ... t/team/699. Was amazed that the Ducks only lead the Bucks in one category, Team Passing Efficiency Defense. They are close on some, but the Bucks are top 10 in a ton of categories. On paper, it has to be the Bucks. Here is hoping Autzen magic, and crazy loud fans turn the game. Ducks 30-27.

Earlier in the year, I had hoped that Bedford and Iuli would be back and integrated into the O-line rotation well before now, as well as Florence in the defensive backfield. The team has gotten along so far without them, but I think they will be sorely missed tomorrow as every unit gets tested by top-level talent. Usually, when trying to project a win for the Ducks, I point to a superior aspect of their game that will give them an edge. I can't find an obvious one here. I want it to be at quarterback, because I don't think that Howard is as good as his receivers, but Gabriel has had his limitations as well, and I don't see a clear advantage. I think Oregon is a nice Top 12 team that is about to meet a Top 2 team who does have to travel, but has also been circling this date. This feels a lot like most of the other times Oregon has faced Ohio State, and I think the Buckeyes will win, likely by multiple scores, something like 38-20. I really hope I am wrong, just like I hoped all the other times Oregon played Ohio State.

Living in Columbus, one can’t help but absorb the Buckeyes hype… They’re good, but they’ve looked a lot like us the last few games, dominating teams while leaving something to be desired. Notes:
-They’ve started slower than us but finished stronger.
-Howard hasn’t had to deal with any pressure and, still, has made a number of questionable throws.
-That lack of pressure points to a great offensive line.
-However, their running game, despite having two of the biggest-name RBs in CFB, hasn’t really turned it on until later in games. Put them in passing situations early and often, who knows what will happen.
-They’ve not played anyone with a dynamic offense. So how good is their D? They can stop good running backs on one dimensional teams. Cool.
-Chip Kelly. LSU, OSU, Auburn, Stanford. When the guy finds a weakness, he kills you. When he can’t, he’s infuriatingly stubborn. Which will it be?
So many unknown/untested pieces to this game.
Potential outcomes:
Oregon 38, tOSU 16
Their D can’t stop our passing game and never recovers. Their O isn’t as dynamic in passing situations. Howard forces too many passes, OSU comes undone by mid Q3.
tOSU 38, Oregon 16
Our O starts slow and we give up two early TD’s. tOSU has us on our heels early and we can’t find the big play fast enough. We score early in the 3rd to make it 28-13, but tOSU seals it on a frustratingly long drive that wraps up the 3rd with a TD.
tOSU 17, Oregon 16
A game full of great defensive plays and head-scratching offensive decisions. Someone has to win.
Oregon 45, tOSU 42, 2 OT
Turns out this game is full of future NFL stars. Both defenses are a step slow all game. Lots of 3rd and long conversions. Every fan loses a few years due to stress. Chunks of hair everywhere. Someone has to win.

You both lose your duck card for a week.
