Transfer portal targets?

I'm guessing that we'll take a tight end and a few other positions, but I have no idea on what other positions we're looking for. Maybe a qb. Does anyone know of any names or positions that the coaches are looking at? With the coaching carousel just starting, the portal will have a lot of names soon.

Looking at our depth chart, we are losing...
Defense:
-Our top 6 DBs
-Our top 3 out of 4 LBs
-Our top 3 DL
Offense:
-3 of our starting 5 OL
-2 of our top 3 TEs
-Probably lose our starting QB, RB, and likely WR (2 of them)
We reload really well at DL, TE (especially if we add Cure), and WR. RB/QB we have guys to fill in, but can't say no to elite talent. I do think we'd want to add at least one interior DL in the portal.
Our OL, DB, and LB group are the ones I'd keep an eye on. Not many games played going into 2025 from those position groups.

Really depends on who declares, but I would guess...
At least one wide receiver. If Stewart stays, maybe it's only one, but since the closest thing to an emerging young guy this year was Justius Lowe, I could see the coaches trying to get a new #1/#2 guy.
At least one offensive tackle. Assuming Conerly declares, who is next up? Bedford and Gernorris, both of whom are best inside? Fox Crader? I think I'm already on record saying I could see them going after Boise State/Clackamas High (OR) tackle Kage Casey.
Safety seems like the next that makes sense. They've recruited so many recruiting ranking stars that you'd think they wouldn't need to hit the portal, but no young guy has really emerged to take those spots.
Tight end is the last but not least. After Sadiq, there isn't much until Saleapaga emerges.

Have heard ‘rumblings’ the Clackamas/Boise State kid wants to come to Oregon very badly.

Hope we don't add a RB as I'm stoked about Harris and Riggs along with the true freshman, also same goes for WR (unless an absolute no-brainer emerges in the portal) as I want to see Moore and Wilson from this class along with J-Mac, Dickey, and a larger role for Lowe.

I don't think we'll add a QB or RB frankly and that we will let our young QB learn on the job early on. Same goes for letting the RB room establish itself.
I think Stewart leaves so that means Lowe, Bryant Jr and Kasper are the only guys who have any decent experience returning; Moore seems like he should get reps but clearly going after a WR1 is a priority save for Stewart staying.
TE is a position where I think they'll find an established 1-year type guy who can absolutely play the Y, while Roger S serves a Y-TE2. Sadiq will be H-TE1 and serve as 1A at times at the Y while the FR TE can compete for H-TE2.
Conerly is in that same boat as Stewart where I think he'll leave, but in the NIL era, he could certainly change the dynamic of only needing to find a RT in the portal and it sounds like there's an ideal fit. IF there was another high-profile IOL who had an interest in the Ducks you'd also consider adding them at Guard.
That's 5 on Offense (WR1, Y-TE, LT, RT, OG) unless Stewart and Conerly return.
We'll absolutely add at least 1 DT/NT type and likely another DE. Harmon isn't staying after this season, he might be DT2 in the draft.
I think someone like Winston might slide inside to ILB but we need someone to start opposite Devon Jackson and probably another to backup and provide depth.
In the DB group at least 1 Safety and 2 CB's.
So in sum ~5 on Offense and ~7 on Defense pending any internal defections we get of players we'd consider as competing for the 2-deep and thus needing to be replaced.

At a certain point you can’t add too many transfers right? Ducks have a lot of young talent, especially on defense, and I would hope they have a significant role next year (especially guys like Rushing, Flowers, and Breeland). If Lanning & Co just go get a bunch of transfer portal guys to start next year and these young talented guys don’t play next year could that hurt recruiting?

Why would Stewart transfer?
Wasn't he recently trying to recruit Johntay Cook to come here? Plus he's got to see with Tez leaving the WR1 position is up for grabs. And I like Moore as a guy that can throw the deep ball better than Gabriel.

I think they're saying entering the draft.

The question still applies. Why would he leave? While he's got talent, I don't see him going until later in the draft. Staying would certainly benefit him more.

There's a balance to whether staying would benefit him more, its a weak draft at WR relative to previous years that have been loaded.

Elijah Rushing on defense???
Do you not think he makes the two deep?

I'm basing this largely off this year's depth chart. Could he pass Blake Purchase (who I'm wondering whether is a transfer candidate) or Jaedon Moore? Sure.
