Boettcher Might Get 5th Year
Not exactly sure what the argument here is because the baseball/football thing is too complicated for my small brain, but Tosh Lupoi said in an interview that they are looking into a waiver to grant Bryce Boettcher one more season of eligibility.

Interesting. Figured he had a pretty ideal year in baseball/football, that it would be a good end to this chapter of his sports career.

Sounds like they're going to appeal for a Covid year for him on the basis of only playing football for 3 years but would that allow him to play 5 years of baseball? Argue that that year was technically a "grayshirt?"StevensTechU wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 11:31 am Not exactly sure what the argument here is because the baseball/football thing is too complicated for my small brain, but Tosh Lupoi said in an interview that they are looking into a waiver to grant Bryce Boettcher one more season of eligibility.

Right now I think he's a 6/7th round flyer type a team would take since he's shown he can both blitz and drop into coverage. Likely a similar path right now as Troy Dye where he can stick by playing ST's at a high level if he wants to keep playing football but having grown up a Duck fan, it's easy to see why Bryce would want to play another year of football as you can certainly see how much fun he has and how effective he is on the field.UOducksTK1 wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 11:37 am Interesting. Oh I wouldn't complain. Figured he may also pursue Baseball more too. But we will see what he does!Duck07 wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 11:40 amRight now I think he's a 6/7th round flyer type a team would take since he's shown he can both blitz and drop into coverage.
