At this point, CFB has become such a cash cow that athletic departments will be launching spy satellites to record practices of future opponents and employ spy’s to infiltrate conference opponent's football operations. I kid kinda… Michigan’s signgate was just scratching the surface of what progrums will do to gain a competitive advantage, id be curious on what AI’s influence on team sports may be in the not so distant future.
Cool read by the way.

Nice article but I love when they do stuff like this because I think for example most of those on this board can understand this video quite easily.
Typing Bartee’s name into YouTube yields a poorly lit video from three years ago that shows him standing in front of a whiteboard explaining “spacing run fits” for more than two hours. Even die-hard football fans wouldn’t have the slightest clue what he’s talking about. But to those at the cutting edge of football strategy, it’s a gold mine.

And yet these guys are making $18,000/year and probably working 60+ hour work weeks.

I always thought the ducks should hire Hythloday as a consultant, some of these guys spend so much time time analyzing football they’re able to have a unique perspective on the game. Obviously there’s more to the game than just stats that a lot of these “nerds” don’t understand but their level of analytics would seem beneficial to any coaching staff.

Michigan with a two possession lead this late is unreal. People hate going for 3 but it's paying off.

Well they say if you do what you love you’ll never be poor
I get what you’re saying, yes they should be paid more.

It's about time Oregon got their own "internet nerds" that the SEC and other Big Ten schools have had for years. Have to think Lanning will be able to attract these types of guys for a long time given his reputation as a defensive genius and if they end up getting better paying jobs elsewhere.
