Iowa just went 0-2-1 against the Beavs. Game 3 ended in a tie after ten innings because the Beavers had to catch their flight. No joke.

If ducks sweep and Northwestern somehow manages to take just one game from UCLA ducks are Big Ten champs. Unfortunately Illinois completely choked game 1 away against UCLA so now we need Northwestern’s help and that’s not in a good place to be.

If it makes you feel any better, we probably won't sweep Iowa.

Yeah was gonna say Big Ten road games outside of western time zone, we went 5-4. And that was against bottom half teams in the Big Ten...

Oregon precariously sitting on hosting in 1st round of NCAAs right now, so a sweep would be nice. Even a series win might lock it up. But lose the series and maybe not so much of a chance to host.

Eh depends. Oregon is a top 6 team in most polls right now. And our SOS/RPI is competitive enough where I think we'd be a 9 or 10 seed right now. As long as we keep it competitive and don't get swept, I think we will still host.

But if college baseball's selection committee is anything like college softball's, Ducks might need every win they can get this week and then in the B1G Conference tournament.

Oh for sure. But Oregon is amazing against quad 1 wins at 9-1. And our non-conference schedule is pretty good.

We have almost none of the same issues that the softball team had going against them.

Obviously hosting regionals is most important, but it somehow ducks manage to win the B1G in baseball it would just be amazing to add another B1G title in our first year in the conference.

Except I think bad losses. I count eight losses the baseball team has had to teams currently outside the RPI top 100. I assume that's why the Ducks' RPI isn't appreciably higher. But I certainly don't know how the selection committee weighs that.

Ducks get 1 on the board but unfortunately missed an opportunity to get more. This home plate ump seemed to magically expand his strike zone once the Iowa pitcher was in trouble.
