Back in the day I used to post each of Oregon’s wins from the prior season leading up to the new season, I decided to do it this year. For some reason I haven’t been able to access the forum on the app so I thought it was down, turns down it was a user error, not the site, so as a result I’m a couple days late but I’ll start today with all three non conference games. I will post the Oregon highlights from that game, the Ducks vs Them video, the game highlights showing highlights for both teams, and any other video I find applicable or I just want to add for fun. Also mods I suck at posting links so please edit so the videos appear in the actual post.

Win 1, Idaho. A new season, a new era, #3 preseason ranking, That Team Out West, there was a ton of buzz and excitement for the 2024 season! And to start off the season was, a very underwhelming performance, a performance that made us wonder if the hype was unjustified and if Oregon wasn’t going to meet expectations. It was, in my personal opinion, the worst win in Oregon history. But, a win is a win, and the record is 1-0!

My personal take, is the game was close due to Terry coaching with his heart, not his head. Pickard took a lot of heat, and I know he was simply not physically gifted enough to start as C for a top B1G team, but it went beyond that. Putting Poncho at RG and Harper at LG, two guys in positions they don’t normally play in and haven’t practiced for, also caused the OLine to struggle. If the OLine was Connerly, Strother, Poncho, Harper, and Cornelius once Bedford went down (the eventual OLine that started the entire season), I don’t think it would’ve been an 81-7 blowout, but it wouldn’t have been that close, maybe something like 45-10. It was a big learning experience for Terry IMO.

Goes to show how important it is to have an OL that is meshing!

Nearly a disaster but yes, a W is a W!

I'll always remember this game as the Carriage dispute game. It wasn't shown in Seattle because Xfinity and the Big 18 couldn't resolve the issue before the game started. The first game I missed in the last 15 years.

No longer watch through Xfinity?
