Lame that 2 losses seems to eliminate us per the national pundits, while Ohio State with 2 losses last year was a #8 seed.
That said, while the next 2 games are challenges, they are games we SHOULD win. We have significant advantages on the LOS.
For USC, Maiava will 100% put the ball in jeopardy and our DB's are going to need to get 1-2 picks against him. Their offense is legit so it will be a great test for our defense. Autzen needs to bring it. Wake up the echoes of FRIGHT NIGHT.
SC D might be the worst we’ve seen in BIG play, besides Rutgers. If they want to keep giving us possessions, we will score a lot on them. I’m guessing a 49-31 type game

I understand what you're saying. I don't have Ohio State's schedule from last year in front of me, but I know they were highly ranked at the end of the season, so their loss to Michigan didn't hurt them as bad.
Our problem is the lack of quality wins. We only have one win over a ranked opponent (Iowa) that may not be ranked by Tuesday. Where other teams like Alabama and Oklahoma, even though they currently have 2 losses, also each have 4 wins over ranked teams. Also, Notre Dame's 2 losses were to ranked Miami (by 3) and ranked Texas A&M (by 1). If USC beats us they'd have wins over Oregon, Iowa, and Michigan. That would not only give them a better overall resume, but they'd also have the head to head win.
Unfortunately, due to the rule of having an ACC champ and a group of 5 champion in the field, that doesn't leave much, or any, room for us.
Also, conference championship games still have to be played and that could result in an underdog or two getting spots.
I think our only ways in are if Notre Dame, Alabama and Oklahoma get a third loss, or we simply win out.

Being as objective as possible, Oregon is a team that's dominated the bad teams on their schedule, but needed OT to beat Penn State, needed a last second field goal to beat Iowa, and lost by 10 at home to Indiana. It's not a great resume and while I think Oregon is a very dangerous team that I wouldn't want to meet in the playoffs, they haven't exactly looked unbeatable.

It's not a great resume and while I think Oregon is a very dangerous team that I wouldn't want to meet in the playoffs, they haven't exactly looked unbeatable.
Understandable. Penn State is a much better team than their record indicates, though. The Iowa game would have been much different if played in dry weather and we had all of our players available. Even the Indiana game was winnable. They'd just gone up 27-20 in the 4th when Moore had a pass tipped and intercepted on our end of the field. They ran down the clock and kicked a FG to make it a two possession game.
I think we'll win our last two games, honestly. It'll be interesting to see who we play in the playoffs, though.

I will say though, our schedule is doing us 0 favors. If we win out, USC will be our only top 25 win.
If we lose to USC, we’d have two losses with 0 top 25 wins.

Looks like it could be another week of weather forecast watching as, currently, TWC has some rain in the forecast for Saturday. NWS currently just has a chance of rain and partly sunny that day.
Even better for ESPN College GameDay, they'll have 3 former Oregon QBs potentially available for guest picker this week. It almost has to be Mariota since he's being honored this week with his induction into the Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame.

While true, Stu, couldn’t you make that same argument for teams 3-15? They have all looked susceptible… TAMU literally almost gagged it yesterday to a bottom feeder. Why are we being held to different standards? The answer is easy, the SEC is always positioned in a way where the national perception becomes reality and it’s crafted by big TV money. SEC teams struggle against a lot of teams and it’s totally ignored. It’s just so odd to me. Wasn’t ol Miss knotted up against The Citidale a week ago for a good part of the game?
