I give me another day. I haven't gotten all my USC hate all out yet. Should be a bye week between these 2.

I’ll be making the road trip to Seattle for this one! It’ll be a good one.

Man, when I was a kid growing up in the Don James era, the Huskies viewed the Ducks as beneath their notice. Husky fans were soooo condescending when the Ducks started making bowl games again in the late 80's. Even after Wheaton's pick, they viewed that loss as a fluke and Oregon fans who celebrated it as so many pesky gnats.
Then the Ducks rattled off 12 in a row. They notice now. It wasn't even Duck fans who were hitting them the hardest; their own journalists were writing scathing articles about Oregon's domination, imagining creative ways to rub salt in their wounds. Now they have shirts like the one in the video. Beating USC is fun because of how arrogant they are and delusional from the media pumping them up every year, but for me nothing will ever compare to stomping on the Huskies. It would be cool to live long enough to see that all-time record swing to Oregon. That three in a row with Penix was a setback for sure, but it's still doable. 21-9 since 1994. Do it again!

So I had dinner and I'm ready to hate on the Huskies. Confession though, somehow I just assumed they were trash again this year, been kind of ignoring them. I hadn't realized they were in the top half of the B1G this year. That's good though in that their fans will be expecting to win and we can break their hearts.
-Their defense is probably the 3rd best we have faced this year behind Indiana and Iowa.
-Their defense has been strong even in the 3 losses. They are better against the run than pass though not bad on the pass.
-Their offense was horrible in their 3 losses (2 to ranked teams) but terrific in their 8 wins.
I actually would feel more comfortable about this game if we could get a couple of o-linemen back and a receiver or 2 wouldn't hurt.

I watched them vs Ohio State hoping to watch them get wiped off the planet. Truth be told, they went toe to toe with the buckeyes for the entire first half. This team is no joke.GrandpaDuck wrote: Sun Nov 23, 2025 7:47 pm So I had dinner and I'm ready to hate on the Huskies. Dan is going to have this team so locked in and beyond jacked to the moon to walk into the mistake by the lake (sorry, Cleveland) and shut up all those horrid excuses for human beings.

I have not watched a lot of UW football. Has Oregon faced a QB like Williams this year (true dual threat)?

The USC game was in many ways great prep for our Defense against Demond Williams, who is a lesser talent at QB than Maiva but perhaps Jedd is a better play-caller than Lincoln on the back of having a running game that's married to the passing game a lot better.73duck wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 8:15 am I have not watched a lot of UW football. Every time USC decided to run it was an automatic win for us; if we can make Coleman and UW that 1-dimensional it will help as the poodles need to stay balanced on offense. I also think it was a great experience for Brandon, Iffy etc to go against Lane and Lemon as they got beat at times, but I don't recall anyone ever getting burned on a route and I think they'll be that much better for it going forward.
This is definitely a poodle team that can shoot itself in the foot but I tend to think they'll be amped for this game and will give us everything they've got but we'll be too much for them once again.

I'm going to try not to overthink this. Uw is a worse team than USC, and the boys beat USC by 15. We lose if the offensive line is completely out of rhythm because of injuries or the players forget how to hold onto the football.

Williams is way more active on his feet.Duck07 wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 8:55 amThe USC game was in many ways great prep for our Defense against Demond Williams, who is a lesser talent at QB than Maiva but perhaps Jedd is a better play-caller than Lincoln on the back of having a running game that's married to the passing game a lot better.73duck wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 8:15 am I have not watched a lot of UW football. Re: #5 Oregon @ Washington (Nov. 29, Sat 12:30 CBS)
Washington overall has had a weird schedule, they seem to either play the top teams in the B1G or the bottom teams. Their best win of the season was Illinois, that no doubt was a solid win though I have always felt Illinois was overrated. Their other game against a middle of the road B1G game was Maryland which they were lucky to win. I feel like their record is inflated with having a good amount of lower tier B1G teams on their schedule as well as a very weak OOC schedule (which we Oregon fans can’t criticize).
Huskies have some athletes, but they aren’t strong in the trenches. The key for the defense will to be disciplined and to keep Williams contained. Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin were able to do that and look what the Husky offense did in those games. Their offensive performance is inflated against poor and undisciplined defenses like the ones at Purdue and UCLA. Williams is a ballhog and likes to run around but hit him a few times and make him uncomfortable and he starts forcing things and make poor decisions. I think our DLine will be able to keep their running game and Williams contained forcing him to be a pocket passer, and Maiava is a far better pocket passer than Williams.
If Oregon loses this game it will be because of the defense, whether it’s poor playcalling from Tosh or undisciplined play, but if the defense plays like they have all season I don’t see the Huskies scoring 30+ and I have a hard time seeing the Husky defense hold the Oregon offense to under 30, again unless we see terrible playcalling and/or poor execution.

The only thing that gives me pause here is our injuries. Our backup linemen held things down in the fourth quarter, but protecting Moore and opening up running lanes for an entire game is a different story. Hopefully a few guys come back and there's no need to worry.
Willie Taggart is a dick.

We have faced several duo threat QB's this year but style wise he is different. Most we have faced have been bigger guys (tight end type bodies) with good straight ahead speed and a load to get on the ground. Williams is more like a slot receiver, quicker, more sudden and a higher top end. Where you might want to spy the other guys with a linebacker, Williams is DB quick. He is their leading rusher by quite a bit if you take out sack yardage, also a 72% passer 19-6 td to interception and close to 300 yards a game.73duck wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 8:15 am I have not watched a lot of UW football. (After not watching UW play at all I sat down and watched 5 hours of condensed games and fast forwarded through a couple full games on the B1G+ app.)

World should be able to play a bit more with another week of rest. Harkey was able to gut through it. Big one I'm worried about is Poncho. He got leg whipped pretty good. Need him on the road and to have that ass kicking attitude.pezsez1 wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 11:54 am The only thing that gives me pause here is our injuries. Defensively, we'll see if UW gets Denzel Boston back. Otherwise, mainly worried about their OL holding and it not being called when their QB scrambles. We MUST keep him contained. Teams that have done that have shut UW down this year.
