CFP Locations

Does anyone understand how the locations are selected for the CFP? Indiana and Oregon in the Peach Bowl makes no sense, and Ole Miss and Miami makes no sense for the Fiesta. Attendance/ticket sales would be SO much better if flipped. Was it seen that Georgia could "host" a playoff game, thus the selection? Georgia didn't make it, so if that's true, why not select the location after the previous round's results? Nobody can plan travel until they win anyway, so that wouldn't be an issue. There really isn't a need to pre-select the location IMO.

Hopefully neutral fields are eliminated until the championship game. So we don’t have to deal with this problem.

IU is only 500 miles from Atlanta so that's far closer than the Fiesta Bowl would be for them as the top seed. I think it'll easily be 70/30 or 80/20 Indiana fans at M-B Stadium.

Ha! Thanks for the reality check; we get thrown by the word 'Midwest' don't we? That's pretty much the exact same distance from Eugene to Berkeley where Oregon regularly had more fans than Cal did at their own stadium. Teams from our neck of the woods are always going to be at a disadvantage in terms of travel.
