In an ideal world, Dante says and Dylan takes a seat behind for a year. Hoping that happens!
But also not terrible if Dante left. Amazing pickup for us!

This seems like such as odd fit for not only Lanning, but Oregon. I trust Lanning, its just odd all the way around. Not to mention we haven't heard (doesn't mean Dan hasn't) a word about Dante's decision.

Why is this an odd fit? He has elite upside. And like Dante Moore was basically the top of his class.

Didn’t Oregon recruit him pretty hard? Not at all surprised the coaches still want him.

Yes. Seems like it was down to us and Georgia for a while until Nebraska snuck in.

Aside from the possible drama that he might bring, I like this addition. If he's willing to sit for a year, I can't imagine that he would bring a lot of negativity, if any, to the team.

What drama does he have?

Same with Bo Nix... The staff bets on talent.

Exactly. And I think this is a perfect fit for Dylan, assuming we get someone like Stein/Dilly who can continue to develop him. Dylan just needs a little bit of love to help push his game over the top, and I guarantee he'll be a Heisman contender by his last year with us.

Not so much him, but I've read in a few places that his dad has been an issue at times, and sometimes tries to pull strings. Like I said though, I can't imagine that it's all that bad if he's willing to sit for a year

We seem to have quite a few openings on staff to fill. I would think a QB coach will be a priority!

If Mehringer is in fact the OC, I feel like he also moves to QB coach. He was a QB in college, and has been a QB coach at a couple of prior spots. Plus, it honestly just makes the most sense to have your OC have that close connection with the QB. I haven't done any analysis on how QBs have done at his prior spots, but those were Rutgers, New Mexico, and JMU in 2014, which aren't really hotbeds of QB talent.
