Woodyard was so hyped out of high school, I am surprised to see him listed down the depth chart like this.

Linebacker is looking thin and there doesn't seem to be a lot of talent available in the portal...

I’m hearing there is a really good chance that Offord moves to the nickel position and starts there next year while Finney and Ify start at CB.

Yeah I was wondering if that would happen. Not to mention, I bet Brew is a guy who hits the ground running too. So he should be a valuable piece off the bench.

It just means an extra CB basically. Traditional defenses are 4-3 or 3-4. But if you do a 4-2 then that means you have an extra defensive back.

Historically, you run nickel packages when you think the team is gonna pass / have more receivers out than normal.

Tho rare there are sometimes dime packages too in which there are 6 DBs

Honestly, he isn’t very good in coverage. Hope he improves.

Watson is very possibly the choice at nickel. Often, nickels are your headiest cornerback/safety mix. Not usually where you put your greenest DBs.

Agreed. And the Depth Chart is more of a headcount and awareness of whose on the D.

But I will say, if Jett is being buried as a 3rd string Safety. You can almost guarantee he will transfer. He is elite level talent.

At nickel, they're going to get themselves another Canady type CB from the portal. Carl Williams IV could potentially be an option. Players like Brew, Offord, McNutt, Lharisse, and Benjamin will get looks there as well.

Radio says they expect Williams to play that Star position
