I gotta think that this was the correct decision for him, not only based on his inconsistencies in the end of the season games, but there is a metric that draws a strong correlation to long term success in the NFL and the number of CFB games as a starter. He's a bit too raw, a bit too young, and a bit too inexperienced...

Now all we need to do is find some guys to protect him.

I suspect that it ultimately came down to money as opposed to getting another opportunity to compete for a natty. He made sure that his 2026 deal offsets the opportunity cost of not entering the upcoming draft. Or maybe he just didn't want to play for the Jets
