I'm excited for this game. I'm going to predict we start Raiola, he doesn't have a total meltdown, and we look good winning comfortably. And just maybe this season starts swinging in our favor.

We'll see how Oregon does against an Illini team coming off a bye and breaking in a new FR QB after Katin Houser broke his hand against Michigan State.

Not going to be excited to see Raiola. People were excited to see Raiola START against UCLA. (Fool me once shame on you ....). Realistically although he did a great 4th quarter comeback, like Thomas did the week before, well twice we've seen what happens when a back up comes in and does well and then how they look starting the next week. And if you look at the stats he averaged 5.9 with yards per completion with a long of 12 yards, that isn't going to win you many games if it becomes a shoot out.
Mostly though, if Moore is not back after this long he had an extreme concussion and that is just horribly sad after he turned down so much to come back to this O-Line crap show.

He looked great for most of three quarters against USC and in crunch time on Saturday, leading us to a dramatic comeback with everything on the line. Yes, it's unfortunate he s*** the bed against UCLA, but if we're being real that wasn't all his fault. Our O-line was terrible in that game. I'm willing to bet he won't play that poorly again for as long as he's still playing football.
We don't need USC Raiola to win out the rest of our schedule. We just need Nebraska Raiola. And definitely not UCLA Raiola ha.
I don't feel like Dante Moore is coming back. He's practicing, which I'm pretty sure means he's cleared. I think he's just decided to shut it down until the draft.

Someone can be cleared to practice while not being fully cleared for competition. They're definitely taking it slow to protect him and his future.

Dan Lanning weekly press conference:

Kinda surprised (not really), when Dan was asked to comment on how Hampton has been so much better since Okie State game. He NEVER mentioned Hamp in his answer. I’m thinking Dan basically took a bigger part of the entire D, because of the failure of the D at that point. He may be covering for both the O and D coordinators. His own doing, but he is probably not sleeping.

This is a good observation. In fairness, he does often shy away from focusing on one member of a unit when he can instead praise the whole unit, but still I think you are right that some individual praise was conspicuously absent.

The contrast between our offense and defense is kind of bizarre. It’s also why I haven’t lost faith in Lanning.
The situation on offense is inexcusable and a direct result of Lanning’s decisions to hire/retain/promote coaches that simply aren’t good enough, but what our defense is doing, both from a talent identification/acquisition and performance standpoint, is proof to me that he’s an elite coach. He just needs to cut his losses on the offense and bring in someone who can revamp that entire side of the ball.
If a meathead like Mario Cristobal was able to identify his weaknesses, hire good coordinators, and finally let them do their thing at Miami then Lanning is fully capable of doing that with the offense. What he does with Terry and Mehringer will make or break him, IMO.

Wonder if we could kick the tires in Locksley as an analyst…

Oregon's initial availability report shows Moore and EStew still out while Iheanacho and Matt Johnson are new additions.
The amount of injures that Oregon has from practicing and pregame warmups is unreal, to the point where we can’t just look at it and simply say it’s bad luck.

If we consider Lanning's biggest coaching influences to be Saban and Kirby, the question is does he run practices like them and have the same amount of injuries or more? If he does, why? If he runs practices differently, how did he reach that decision? Are they causing more injuries than should be expected? We all have lots of questions about our practice habits, but I'd like to see some answers. Spoiler alert, I don't have the answers.
