Damn seeing Boyd go to Clemson just reminds me of last year with Streeter and Boyd and this year with McNeal. I think Oregon has had the worst luck over the last 3 years in recruiting.

2007-Fili and Wade both don't get in and must go to JC
2008- Thompson cant get into school still so he just take another class,Boyd, Streeter, and Pryor all don't come to Oregon because of distance and family issues
2009- Fili is a no show, Wade cant get into UO, Leon has to go else where cause of transfers issues, Justin Thompsn still cant get into the UO and signs with Memphis, we lose out on James Johnson and Markus Wheaton because we fired a coach or lack of PT, we lose McNeal because of his mommy being in a tight wad, and now Boyd committing to Oregon twice and then backing out to please mom.

Damn.

I'm over the fact we lost out on Boyd. It stings and it sucks, but thankfully we have Masoli back for two more years and then this means Thomas should get a redshirt and will have 2 years at the helm most likely.

What really makes me upset is the fact that Chip was in VA today for the press conference. Time wasted he could have been with Adam Hall, Markus Wheaton, or other recruits trying to lock up instead he had to see first hand Boyd go else where. Granted he didnt know Boyd would choose Clemson but it still sucks he was there and we lost a day of recruiting for it.

Mops, could you give us some good news? Not a hint, but like some legit good news to numb the pain?

Thanks Mops, I'm glad you share the thoughts of most of us on this board. Also, don't forget about the tragic incidents with players like Kelly and Doxey, the incidents with guys like Derrick Jones and Pritchett, etc. These guys were all recruits that were expected to be huge impact players at Oregon. To top it off, we have all had to deal with players like Dixon going down and other major injuries to important players. I don't know if it's all just bad luck or what, but I think it's certainly taken it's toll on all of us. With that being said, there are brighter days ahead.

Unfortunately it will not. It will time you out after 20 or thirty minutes if you do not participate.

That is why I throw a "nice" or "oh gosh" in there every once in a while.

I tried to log into chat and just get the transcripts. It did not work for me. It times itself out and goes to the login screen. Just FYI

With regards to Mops post. I'm pretty surprised to hear him sound so glum of all people. And not that we all aren't bummed about today, and IMO I'm not saying it's done til the LOI is on Clemson's desk, but
I think we are all missing the big picture at least a little. Cross country recruiting is tough enough. THen to factor in the amount of knowledge people have about Oregon itself and CK. Not to mention all of the coaching changes this year. Really is it that bad?
I think DT position is bad, but man we have to hope that our staff will figure it all out to get the right personnel on the field and hopefully get a couple late recruits here. Sounds like we have one commiting Thursday. One Monday, and who knows what else on Wed. And maybe Brian Butler will let the #1 player in the country come this way after all.
Side note: Did we really need Boyd that badly?

Im not doom in gloom on this class. With our without Boyd I think this is a great class and one that will be huge for Oregon down the road. Lots of potential and there are lots of studs in this class.

Just was hearing from a lot of different sides Boyd was ours and in fact was ours Saturday, Sunday, and part of Monday and then he switched.

Just stinks, but thats recruiting. The quicker you move on the better.

2010, from all the guys I am talking to will be a stellar year.

This is a good amount of bad luck. It is also tied to putting so much on the line with players with academic problems or distance issues. I know USC has a tight hold down in Southern California, but I'd like to see more effort put down there. I'm not saying that they aren't doing enough, but I'd rather compete with USC than Ohio State, Miami, Clemson, etc. At least with USC, we can use the whole "you will actually play here" argument, lol.
