Yeah, gotta get Gaines and Jackson. With 5 days left until LOI day, this has been a disappointing recruiting class so far.

Remeber, guys like P.Chung, J.Will, Thurmond III, J.Byrd, Nick Reed, and J.Johnson were all 2-3 STAR guys!

And we're not out of the running for Gaines and Brown.

Simply put, this class wasn't STAR-STUDDED, but it doesn't mean we didn't land a bunch of STUDS! Reserve judgement until the 2009 Season starts. If we have a BCS Season next year, you will see the 5 Stars commit.

Yes, but regardless of the stars, it has still been disappointing so far. Even a lot of the "insiders" on the board have said that. I wanted Cameron Marshall, Wheaton, James Johnson, etc, so I'm not all about the stars.

I agree duckgrad...those three were some of the biggest wants for me...especially Marshall

Well done I wanted to say something but its gets tiresome! But sadly there are a few on this board (state, Country, Planet...) that can only see the negative side of things and while its nice have varying view points, they tend to drag others down with them!

Collectively we just have to start ignoring the posts that have little value or nothing to add...

The only things that I find wrong with this class are lack of offensive players and HS DTs. Right now, this class only has 5 players slated to be on the offensive side of the ball. This could change with a couple more receivers, but the class is still lacking a good RB prospect, which I don't expect Oregon to get this year unless someone out of the blue commits. QB is the same as the RB: don't have one this year but will need get 1 in next year's class. I'm okay with no TEs since we are good for depth at that position with Dickson, Lewis, Ward, Paulson, and Rivera. We got the OL covered with 4 recruits.

On defense, I think that we have our needs at DE, LB, and CB covered. I don't think that Oregon has the S spots filled since we lose 2 after next season and still need to 1 spot this year (not too sure about current players since they are untested and have been injury-prone). DT is the one spot where I think the coaches have not addressed adequately. The coaches can't seem to find good HS or JC DTs that can qualify. Unless the coaches find at least 1 HS DT this year, they are going to be heavily dependent on JC transfers for the next couple of seasons.

Hall committing to AZ only magnifies our need to sign Tyrece Gaines and Diante Jackson.
