Mops ... do you remain confident that Diante Jackson is going to sign with Oregon this Wednesday? If I've somehow misunderstood your position on this, I apologize in advance. It sure would be great to add him and Gaines to the List . . .

I don't think you're going to get an answer on this until Wednesday...

This would fall under the "dead horse" rule...

mops has already mentioned a few times that not only will he not talk about this situation but that he is confident and that we will land this guy and we know more on LOI day!

The best thing any of us can do right now, is sit back, relax, and watch the show...

My intention certainly wasn't to beat a dead horse, and I fully realize we'll know the outcome of the question on Wednesday. And, for what it's worth, before I posted the original question, I scrolled through the topics and comments to see if this had recently been covered (asked and answered). For the most part, the other sites pretty much have been saying that we simply won't know until LOI day, but I thought I remembered Mops having some info that said otherwise. Sorry to have asked the question . . .

Maybe some of you should just go into hibernation until Spring Ball rolls around...

Don't worry about it Mitchski. Mops was asked by the Mom to be silent until signing day so he did just that. He has repeatedly said though, that nothing has changed & his mom, grandma & whole family want him to be a Duck & that's pretty much what is going to happen.

I just don't see how he could be coming to Oregon if he is still "committed" to Colorado. Hopefully he is going to be a Duck, but if that's true then hopefully he let Colorado's coaches know his intentions a while ago.

Thanks for the input. That's what I had remembered, and my hope was that his position hadn't changed. We'll see on Wednesday though . . .

My bad I saw 5 posts and assumed you didn't read the past threads but I will say if you look back far enough this issue/news was well covered...no worries though!

In case you hadn't heard or read it (Posted 1/25/2009 in the Oregonian):

"Some information about Diante Jackson that not everyone might have. Jackson is Oregon's commit Avery Patterson's second cousin. Apparently, they're pretty close and talk on a constant basis. That can't hurt Oregon's chances for Jackson."

That information, coupled with the fact that Jackson's father lives and works in Portland, plus the tremendous support his Mother and Grandmother have for DJ playing for the Ducks, would suggest the strong likelihood that come signing day, Jackson will become a Duck.

The last significant thing to come out of the Jackson camp was he was going to be sending his LOI to the Ducks, no matter where the recruiting services have him going. Nothing of any substance has come out since then to make me believe otherwise so I fully expect him to be coming to Eugene.

It's all good with me. I don't post much, but I follow this stuff pretty closely, and I don't want to be "that guy" who gets on a board, and asks a question that has been answered a hundred times, and has been covered to death. I knew by asking about DJ that it had obviously been covered a lot, but I wanted to make sure that my optimism for Oregon getting his LOI was still valid.

I'm in tune with all that's been said about him, and signs certainly point toward him being a Duck ... that said, it's always nice to have an "insider" who can confirm things one way or the other via direct contact. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

That's what I'm trying to say, Mops talked to directly Mrs. Jackson, Diante's mom & she told him not to worry, he will be a Duck. There's a thread on it on the old C4Qs board.

I know that now, per your earlier comment, and I'm glad to hear. I appreciate the info.
