I doubt they would recruit him if he wasn't good and they didn't expect him to see the field.

He seems to have good speed, and having someone from Texas couldn't hurt. :D

Guys that grayshirt are 50/50 to see the field next year. Personally, I think he plays if he is physically fit and knows the playbook.

I highly doubt Cantu runs a 4.48. I think of him as more of a bigger version of Phlugrad. Sure hands, runs good routes, good effort in blocking. We wont really know if he is going to play this coming season until we see him in action. If he has a good spring or summer then carries that into the fall then there is a good chance he see's the field. If some better athletes come in and out preform him then he probably RShirts.

If I remember right he was able to start rehabing/working out quite a while ago so hopefully he's physically up to speed.

Cantu was at the Under Armour AA game last year, and won the "hands" skills competition held that week. Also, if you saw him at practices last year, you would see he is no Pflugrad. He is a built, very solid 190-ish, and is a very fluid runner. I would bet he is not far off that 4.5 range.

I watched him in 1 v 1 drills and I was impressed. He caught EVERYTHING even when the ball was realy badly thrown. He battles the DB for position and is aggressive going for the ball. In game clips, he was constantly getting open deep. I'm not sure on his 40 time, but he looks like he has the size.

Cantu will hopefully become the Ducks' version of Wes Welker at some point.

Cantu was quitie impressivie in the skills portion of the UA AA competition... Very quick reactions, good hands, and decent speed. The commentators loved him.

Disagree. I understand he technically isnt a recruit, but he plays a part of the incomming players.

Not really. He was enrolled this summer. Just had shoulder surgery. People know what he can do; he's been through an entire summer where he did very well against DBs like Pat, Walt, and Jarius.
