I agree with Miller on this one. Excessive celebration really isn't a problem at all. Kids should be aloud to get pumped about a touchdown, and not risk losing the points if they get a little carried away or the refs are having a bad day.

I'm against the rule change as well. Let the coaches enforce this. I can remember Brooks grabbin Ricky Whittle by the face mask and giving him an earful after Whittle purposely fell into the endzone backwards on a breakaway TD run. Classic.

We've already seen the repercussions a rule like this can have in a game. BYU @ UW.

I still like the old saying....."Act like you've been there before"

With the rep Pac-10 officials have for throwing flags I don't see the point in giving them another opportunity to make a bad decision

I realize that typos happen, and that pointing out spelling and/or grammar mistakes on a message board is mean, but this one is funny given the context of the discussion.

Kids celebrating a TD should be allowed to be aloud

I agree 100%!

Also I think the clock rules need to be changed back to the way they were, to be able to run a clock out 3 plus minutes left is ridiculous!

I'm surprised MB supports the new clock related rules...

Mo worries, I was commenting more on the fact that it made me laugh a bit because of the double meaning

Are you kidding? Why would this even be discussed? Could you imagine scoring a touchdown in front of 60,000+ of your classmates and random people???? That would be so insane!!!! I mean, there should be a line drawn, but you can't expect someone not to get jacked after uppin' their street rep. This is a ridiculous topic, it's a judgement call. If some kid throws the ball at a perusing defender, throw the flag. If he does a flip in the endzone, let him do his thing, he's not hurting anyone. This could all be settled by making sure the ref's tampons aren't bugging them before the game.

And this is probably why they are even discussing this rule now. To try to nip these over zealous, pre-meditated TD celebrations in the bud. And I can understand that. I'm not that old, but this "me first, look at me I just made 1 good play" attitudes are getting ridiculous. But it isn't prevalent in CFB........yet. And, these are kids and young men playing an emotional game. It should be fun. Fine line I suppose.

yea, Im fine if they celerbate with teammate, i dont see anything wrong with that, i like how we did it simple, when we get touchdown we often see player come to other player and jump back against other player.

Officals should know that they are 17/18 to 21 years old, gonna expect them carry away with emotions (ex. Jake Locker vs BYU) that was great game, but damn officals killed it cuz they followed rule but come on let that one go. Thats why i want them to go through this. Thats just my IMO. does this consider penatly if i Spike the ball after touchdown like NFL allow and ball went high after i spike it?

My take is that the players after they give the ball back to the ref. should be able to shake, shimmy, or dance all they want on the way to their sideline with the only risk being a delay of game or too many men on the field penalty. However, if they get in the other teams face or touch another of the other teams players then they should get a penalty that is accessed after the kick off is returned. We all know how important field position is to offensive drives and I bet the coaches would make sure that taunts wouldn't happen if they knew the other team would start at the 35 yard line or better.

That’s what I think, let the kids have fun, but keep the game civil
