They were paying him peanuts to be on IR. Probably put more money into his rehabbing than in his pocket, honestly. But I agree that it does make you wonder how bad of shape he's still in if they didn't want to see the process through.buckmarkduck wrote:
It makes me think he won't ever be back. I know the Browns are a horrible organization, and make stupid decision after stupid decision, but why pay him for a year, then cut him if he's ready to start playing again?

Re: Ex-Ducks NFL Status
Don't they still have to pay him the minimum? Which is 6figures, but in NFL terms is peanuts. But to me, if someone wants to give me a solid 6 figures to watch film, workout, be around a "pro" team and re hab, I'd be all over that.StevensTechU wrote:They were paying him peanuts to be on IR. No Ducks other than Buckner have been drafted up 'til now, which is midway through the final (7th) round. Bummer.

Walter officially hangs em up today. I'm really happy for him to be able to make this type of decision and move on to the next part of his life, especially with a big fat Super Bowl Ring that he and so many of his peers have been able to wear!

Smart move to retire early. He is only 28 and has projects going for himself.

I heard this on the fan with Isaac and Suke last week. They were telling the story and then said it was Walter, and I was laughing so hard when I heard it was him.
