Crim article, Free
Diggin around on Scout, this was thrown up yesterday. Obviously done by an Arkansas writer.
What I did find interesting is he will go back to school only because SEC and PAC-10 schools require it. SO............

Its hard to get a read where he's leaning in that article but it would sound that he's down to us and the Razorbacks!
And I guess the other question is do we have room for him?

I think Crim likes UO but he wants to start, so it probably really depends on what Byrd does. If he stays I would bet he goes to AR if not we'll see.

Tell me if you think I am way off base here but why not move Byrd to his natural position at saftey. Have Byrd and Ward at saftey and then give the corner spot to Thurmond and the guy that wins the spot between a guy like Crim, Gildon, Glasper, Jackson III, or Wallace. I think it could be a better secondary. Anyway, Leon may be the better prospect than Crim, so that would be the lynchpin, imo. Once Byrd gets his report card from the NFL and he project better as a saftey, he'd be willing to come back one year at that position.buckmarkduck wrote:I think Crim likes UO but he wants to start, so it probably really depends on what Byrd does. How about this quote...One thing that really impressed Crim this weekend was the amount of time Razorback head coach Bobby Petrino spent with the recruits.
“On some visits you go and the head coach is not around much at all,” noted Crim
With Petrino's track record, he may be gone before he could start school there.

Bison, here is your answer to the reason Byrd won't be moving to safety next year. When Leon committed I think Crim started to look elsewhere.

Does anybody else get the feeling that Bryd is gone? I do. I think with his dad's connections and the fact that he will have to make an adjustment at the NFL level, leads me to believe that he will leave for the NFL. If Bryd does leave, Crimm will become more important to this class.

I believe that Byrdman will in fact stay. His father has stressed to him that he should stay another year and improve his game. This is from a player on the team that knows J byrd pretty well. I'll take his word on it.

GO HARD, GO OREGON, GO DUCKS!

Byrd won't go any higher than 3rd to 4th round he will stay and try to improve his draft value. I'd love to sign Cliff and move Byrd to safety.

Not sure what the significance of mentioning Conference USA standards is considering USF is in the Big East now..

Hopefully with Byrd leaving Crim gravitates to Oregon. We could definitely use him now. Hope Byrd made the right choice....I guess we'll find out!
