"It's a love-ly day in the neigh-bor-hood..."

MeThinks Mr. Rogers has less horse sense than Mr. Ed... Maybe he thinks the Kiffin Way will earn him some kudos? Probably subscibes to a certain pre-season ranking I saw recently, as well.

OK, class... Everybody who thinks CK turns over the reins to his new OC immediately, raise your hand...

Sometimes, it's best to just say...

It is clear that nobody is respecting Oregon this year. That means the team can play as the supposed underdog I guess. They play best in this position IMO.

Interesting, I think this is funny how according to this writer it will be a cake-walk for Utah against the Ducks. I live in Utah and attend the University of Utah and have a friend who is an assistant for the team and he says they have a lot of work to do and have issues. Most people here believe Utah will mostly likely be a 2-3 loss team next year. This writer will look like an idiot when the Ducks beat the Utes! :D

Well, just might be a rude awakening for both a Mountain West and a WAC team this year..I mean, flirting with another run of the mill undefeated season may very well be ended nice and early this year....
I do appreciate the fact that each have actually scheduled a quality pre-season opponent this year.....
The Ducks will either have a super strength of schedule advantage when all is said and done...or one or both of the subject teams will have a major notch on their belt....
I am casting my vote for the Ducks advantage this year....Lets see how it works out....

Posted my comment there (if he approves it).

He's basically speculating that all of Oregon's unknowns will turn out negative and not giving any value to apparent improvements.

Anything is possible. It is possible that the Ducks have a bad year. I don't see a lot of "homework" indicating that will be the case, unless you assume the worst of everything will happen. But, you never know.

I don't think that game will be a push-over by any means. But, I feel pretty confident that the Ducks take that one.

He's entitled to his opinion even though it's WRONG. We all know his reasoning is flawed, but Utah has finished undefeated twice this decade so he has some right to be over confident, although I seriously doubt they will be able to stop our O. In fact I'll call it right now UO 41 Utah 24.

I don't think Utah will be challenged until they play TCU in Fort Worth on November 14.

Come on dude... everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to not even consider the Ducks a challenge is ridiculous.

Didn't read the article but did he completely dismiss the whole Autzen factor?

Looks like you swayed him a bit, or at least won some respect for Duck fans:

"With all of these educated, intelligent and actually quite polite arguments, I'm almost to the point of changing my opinion and becoming a full-fledged Oregon fan! These comments are a complete 180 from SEC fan who disagrees with me and just calls me a dumb you-know-what and compares my mother to a hippo..."

Not only did he do that, but went on to say he was counting on Utah's NJCAA passing champ to step up big time against the Ducks... Early dependence on a first time starter at the D-1 level is a crap shoot for most teams.

That kid is Terrance Cain, a transfer from Blinn CC in Benham, Texas, where he graduated in December, so he has been at Utah for spring drills. TC is listed by both Scout and Rivals as 6'1"/195, with a 4.6-4.75/40.

http://www.kbtx.com/sports/headlines/36190689.html

Blinn College (Texas) sophomore quarterback Terrance Cain has been awarded Offensive Player of the Year, while Hutchinson Community College (Kan.) sophomore defensive lineman Eugene Kinlaw received Defensive Player of the Year honors.

A native of Houston, Texas, Cain made a name for himself in 2007 when he set a new NJCAA record by completing 71.1 percent of his passes. He earned Honorable Mention All-American accolades as a freshman and entered the 2008 season as a First-Team Pre-Season All-American.

In 2008 Cain led the NJCAA in passing yards (3,138), completions (223), and touchdowns (29). He also ranked second in completion percentage (68.4%) and was awarded NJCAA First-Team All-American honors.

The Southwest JC Football Conference Player of the Year also ranked second in the nation in total offense with 3,306 yards and accounted for 33 touchdowns for the Buccaneers.

For his career at Blinn, Cain threw for 5,313 yards, 51 touchdowns and just 22 interceptions (I can hear WTIII and company smacking their lips in anticipation already!). He also completed over 70 percent of his pass attempts (418-of-590).

I guess we will see how good he really is...

The question is ... will he be more like Masoli, or like Kevin Craft?

this guy obviously doesnt know what hes talking. saying we wont even be a challenge. says we may start in the 15 to 20 range, already at 12 and 11 ranked in some places. Even if our team sucks its hard to play in autzen, but this is a team we are hoping to duplicate and do better than last year. the main reason utah went undefeated was their conference, brian johnson, and osu giving away the win to them. they have a brand new qb, we have masoli coming back who did nothing but improve into a dominant qb. im not sure how he can saw no challenge, and finish middle of the pac 10. we will be contending for the title with cal osu and usc if we can stay healthy.

Utah does have three good QB's competing for the job, although all three of them have no real experience. They have a redshirt sophomore that will probably end up being the starter whose only real experience is coming in for wildcat or QB draw plays. A JUCO guy that doesn't know the system and a true freshman. To say Utah, which lost their top DB and top DE as early entrants in the NFL draft, almost their entire defensive line, their QB, their top two WR's, a starting RB and a couple of guys from the O-Line as well as their Offensive and Defensive Coordinators will have no trouble against the Ducks at Autzen is just stupid. He didn't do enough homework. Yeah the Ducks have some areas that lack experience and there are some question marks, but come on!
