NCAA Football 10 demo
The demo came out today. If you have Xbox Live, or the Playstation Network, you can download it for free. It's 1.54GB and it takes about and hour and a half to download. You can play as either Florida or Oklahoma, in 2 min quarters. But what's different from previous years is you can change the difficulty. I've played it twice on All-American, and got beat BOTH TIMES! I honestly can't remember the last time I lost a game. But I blame part of it on the fact that I'm looking for all of the new things in the game

is pretty good so far. the defense actually decides to play and have actually seen some pressure on the line unlike last years. good new passing system and player lock.

Re: NCAA Football 10 demo
Just played the demo and i'm not impressed at all. I didn't think last years game was all that good but still played it quit a bit. I think this will be the first year I don't buy the game. They have made very few improvements, just added a few bells and whistles. This years game looks like it will be the worst edition yet, which is very sad.
I remember being pumped every year for this game to come out, but lately haven't really been to excited to play NCAA. It seems like EA hit a peak about 5 years ago and have just regressed every year since.

I'm currently downloading it and look forward to playing. I don't know how much I will enjoy it because I'm bored of the florida offense (people aren't creative in picking teams on Live) and I have a hate for anything sooner. I will buy the game based on the fact that Oregon will have decent ratings this year.

Just finished it and I really enjoyed the game. I like the game planning and the camera angles are improved. Overall I really look forward to playing with Oregon but this will hold me over until the game comes out.

I'm going to have to agree... there's been literally nothing significant added to this year's game. They finished up adding all of the stadiums, slapped back on a create a team mode (which has been in previous year's are on far inferior systems), tweaked some gameplay aspects, and that's about it.Duckxing wrote:Just played the demo and i'm not impressed at all. I'm still waiting for them to bring in Spring Practices (something they did on PS2 several years ago but never brought over), FCS teams, and other things they've skipped over the years.\

Re: NCAA Football 10 demo
I have to agree with the disappointment.
Pretty much the same game. In years past, it seemed like the NCAA version would get the advancements made in the Madden version from the previous year. This year, it doesn't look like any of last years Madden improvements made it in to NCAA.
I guess this is what happens when a company gets a near monopoly on football games.

I might be the minority but I hope Madden stays out of the NCAA's. Madden gameplay is awful IMO; the advancement I'd like to see return to the game is the ability to play with FCS schools. From a gameplay standpoint, (outside of an abysmal pash rush), I find NCAA to still be more appealing than Madden.

I really don't know what you guys are looking for that are disappointed. Are you just listening to everyone else and jumping on the bandwagon of hatred? What would improve the game play for you guys? I broke a run yesterday that I had never seen before because the RB reacted to every contact, stumbled, and bolted down the center of the field for 40 yards. I love what they have done with the game play (a little fast though) and I'm confused what is so bad. Don't just say it is the same game because it clearly is not.

Re: NCAA Football 10 demo
Yeah I definitely see the differences. And the game is not bad at all, and to say it's the worst one yet just isn't true. However, it's not where it should be. The whole Season Showdown thing was just a waste of time, and nobody wanted it. The thing that makes me mad is all of the things that were in the PS2 version that aren't in the next gen versions. But I have fun playing the game, so I'm going to buy it. With that, Oregon having pretty good ratings, being able to use ANY Duck uni, having create a team back, and the improvements they've made, I'm excited for the game.

Couldn't agree with you more ducksin2010, its the only game on the market and i have always thoroughly played EA's version exclusively, Heck i have bought the game every year since 2002 when Florida St's Chris Rix was on the cover. Bottom line i may not be completely satisfied with the game but its the only college football game out there, and i truly love playing NCAA Football with the Oregon Ducks, for me it speeds up the wait for the actual football season to begin.ducksin2010 wrote:I really don't know what you guys are looking for that are disappointed. I also agree that after playing the demo this year's game has impoved in the areas that sucked last year. The defense now takes angles to stop long plays. The line play is much better now too. Also I agree that the Madden gameplay is absolutly horrible and I will not buy Madden ever again. I haven't but it for the last 2 years and dont plan on ever buying it.

Re: NCAA Football 10 demo
^should i just copy and paste^ i agree i like both games but i think NCAA is much better it may have to do with that i love college football more then the NFL but either way i prefer to play the NCAA games then madden. in last years game i am at a 124 game winning streak with the ducks and have won 8 national championships. and OSU is the last ranked team in the game for the last 4 years at 118th lol. i wish that you could make rivals and lose rivals during your dynasty. but the new recuirting systems looks to be more of a challenge we will seeElduderino wrote:I might be the minority but I hope Madden stays out of the NCAA's. Re: NCAA Football 10 demo
I think that the body mechanics and variety of things that the players do (types of blocks, jumping for balls, etc.) is clearly more sophisticated in Madden. And why wouldn't it be, given that they make more profit off of that property? Madden has it's flaws also. But, there are definitely more resources, better developers assigned to it and more ambitious improvements taken on.
There are some small improvements to NCAA 10. Just not very significant ones like we saw during the golden age of football games when multiple companies held the rights to team names and branding. The major flaw, for me, is that it just doesn't bring enough that is new to get excited about.

I didn't feel like starting a new thread for this, but is there interest in an online dynasty with C4Q members? It would be difficult because we couldn't all be oregon, but I think it would be fun. Let me know if there is any one interested.
