Nice to get the first two, hopefully get the sweep tommorrow. Softball beat the beavers 10-5, are now ranked #1 in the country.

27-10. i said i wanted to be @ 30 wins prior to heading to corvallis, so sweeping this series was a must. now we need to beat san diego tomorrow (who can hit -- and they've beaten fullerton in a mid-week game already this year. @ 24-10, they're no joke. if tessar gets the nod tomorrow, he's going to need to bring his good stuff). then we need to take the series against a much-improved wazzu team next weekend. the cougs beat the beavs on friday, but dropped yesterday and today's games.

allow me to briefly forecast the rest of the season (which is hard to do, without knowing krook's status):

let's say we beat san diego, and take 2 of 3 from wazzu. that puts us at 30-11. we then have three @ corvallis where, being honest, i'm going to chalk up three losses. 30-14. we can bounce back with 3 against a 16-20 arizona team at home -- let's call it a sweep -- to get to 33-14. we then get the beavs again (and let's call it another loss), then portland (a win), to get us to 34-15. 3 @ arizona state next -- let's say we lose 2 of 3. 35-17. pacific at home -- 36-17. 3 @ ucla -- not feeling confident. i say we drop 2 of 3. 37-19. oregon state at home: okay, we'll take one of the five games this year. 38-19. then three at home with cal in what i think will be a MUST sweep scenario to get a top 16 seed and to host a regional. 42-19. strong SOS. good RPI. might be enough to snag that regional.
