That was the exact same thing I was wondering when I read this article haha.

hahaha, probably something like this. "Boyd gives Oregon false hope, solid to Ohio State."
Dude, I just can't get over the hooves on this gal. They need to have some kind of Surgeon General's warning or something. She looks great from the ankles up though!

Why is he wasting his time at Clemson if he wants to be a Duck? Don't get it other than it's a free trip etc.
Do you need a transfusion of GREEN O Positive?

That's exactly it. His parents want him to just check out all his options before he makes a final decision because they aren't totally sold on the Ducks.

For those of you wondering what type of things are being said on tOSU forums... They are not all negative... Yet.

but the recent development of Tee Martin taking the New Mexico coaching position instead of Oregon is IMHO, huge for the recruiting of Boyd!
Anyone like our chances at Boyd better now that he and his family will not be influenced by the presence of personal advisor Tee Martin at Oregon?"

I have no insider info, but I feel that Boyd didn't want to red shirt and wait behind Pryor for a year or two more. Perhaps after being voted MVP of the AA game, he feels 3 years and NFL. We should be able to sign a top QB in the 2010 class who will perhaps start 2-3 years for the Bucks. TOSU offers a great opportunity for a successor to Pryor. National TV exposure, BCS bowl games, and a possibility of a NC to name a few. We should have no problem signing a top 2010 QB. Good luck to Boyd if he wants to play David to Petey's Goliath. GO BUCKS!!!!

The guy has a partially torn ACL, I would think he's redshirting regardless. Beyond that he has to beat out like 5 QBs on their roster. Maybe he will, but Masoli looked pretty damn good in their bowl game. Personally I think that if Oregon is promising him playing time they're either assuming someone's gonna Nancy Kerrigan their other QBs or they're totally blowing smoke up his backend.

But if he honestly believes he can go there and get playing time sooner than here, then best of luck to him. Then again, that's not the only factor. Perhaps he really does just see himself happier there. There's nothing wrong with that.

If we lose Boyd it will be because of lack of offense. We just havent been where we need to be on that side of the ball. Boyd had to notice the difference between the two teams in their respective bowl games. I think if it were strickly Head coaches and Institutions, he would go to tOSU....but he is looking at the offenses and his potential in each. We still have a ways to go on that side of the ball and the statistics have shown our lack of offense. 8 years under JT and his conservative style.....its time to start ranking in the top 15 in the nation in offense.....its not a problem for our defensive coaching staff. Boyd could be the missing piece to get us there. I think he is that good. His skills are very impressive. He will shine wherever he goes. Go Bucks

And they still have the arrogance factor to fall back on... See the following:

Is this Oregon fan really trying to claim that Oregon has produced great quarterbacks, and that’s why Boyd should go there?

In other words his argument is based on Joey Harrington being a great quarterback. Let that sink in for a second.

Are you not laughing hysterically after reading that? The guy might be the biggest bust in the history of the NFL. He could not throw the ball 15 yards in the air. (If not Harrington as biggest all time bust, you could make a strong argument for another Oregon stud QB, Akili Smith)

No offense, but you are trying to argue for Oregon football. Oregon is on about the 4th tier in regards to football programs.
I put you below Purdue and Michigan State in terms of relevance, so that should tell you something. Ironically, you were completely outplayed by 9th place B10 team Purdue this year, and would have lost if their kicker did not miss a chip shot field goal at the end of regulation.

To be honest, you will probably get Boyd and I don’t really care because he wouldn't play for atleast 3 more years but please don’t ever compare your team with Ohio State. It’s almost a slap in the face that you would even debate the two.

I agree, fancy buildings and facilities will never get them to elite level. There simply isn't enough in-state high school talent to keep their program at a National level. They will occasionally draw a 5 star recruit but the Meat and Potatoes of any team is always home grown.

Nice post wounded. While I appreciate the level-headed responses, I couldn't help but be disturbed by that one post in particular. The ignorance that is flashed around on the internet is enough to make this man sad.

haha TheDude makes me laugh. What he forgets to mention is that we came from behind in the Purdue game to force OT and we came out in OT and beat them, tOSU would have just lost. This just makes me hope we play them soon.

Apparently the buckeyes dont read their bible. Dear buckeye fans we will gladly accept the nomination as David (who slayed Goliath) to Peteys Goliath your faith in us is very appreciated. By the way buckeyes didnt you guys get to tangle with Goliath this year? Howd that work out for ya?

I am trying to be unbiased here, which is hard. However, after watching TP in that offense I would think twice before going to that school as a dual threat quarterback, even if you can play in a pro-style offense. People are now questioning if the kid has the skills to play quarterback when there was no such debate coming out of high school.

On another note, ranking us below Purdue and Michigan State in terms of relevance is about as laughable as anything I've heard lately. I love watching TOSU get b*tched slapped every year in a BCS game. Not quite as much as ND but almost as much.

I was sitting here laughing at the comments made by OSU fans and will try to least be somewhat levelheaded and give them a few kudos. Yes they have won national championships in past which we have not. Yes they continue to have 10 win seasons year in and year out and make it to a BCS game every year. I will admit those things are true for Ohio State. That being said though they have showed in the BCS games they are totally out of their league. They played well against Texas but they still lost. They have their tradition to fall back on something Oregon is building. It might well be long time before we can get 10 win seasons every year but I think that is on the horizon especially with the advances we have made in recruiting young talent and the coaches we have. One comment about the lack of qb's we have had that made any impact in the NFL. I wonder has the guy heard of a person by the name of Dan Fouts. I believe he is in the Hall of Fame and is a broadcaster now. Just my two cents. I do worry about whether Tee Martin going to New Mexico will mean Boyd does go to OSU something I will not be surprised if he does.

When we are so close to landing one of the top QBs in the country, I'll admit that this Clemson trip is a significant worry. I know we're the fave and Clemson has ground to make up, but SC is very close to home and his parents are going as well. Couple that with Clemson's new staff doing very well at recruiting and their depth chart not as formibable as either ours or Ohio St's.......... well you see where I'm going.

It's clear from most recent updates that Tajh has us as his leader. Clemson has a big hill to climb, but don't be shocked if he comes back on Sunday and suddenly says "he needs more time, etc. as they definitely opened my eyes". We've all heard this kind of thing before, both in our favor and not. They have a home BB game and the word is they're planning a Pope style welcome to blow his socks off. If we can survive this weekend he'll certainly be a Duck IMO.

Lat I read was Tee Martin had not accepted the job at UNM...He was still considering it. Second I think BOyd feels like he can come in and compete with Thomas and that is why he feels good about us. For the poster who said he hates wasted talent I would disagree it would be wasted. With Our QB situation being as fluid as it is injury wise. He could play a lot early. It is better to not have only one go to guy but 2-3 QB's who can step in at a moments notice. If this last few years as Duck fan has taught you nothing else you need to see that.
