The SEC and so-called champs are Pathetic

An article about Florida being 63 point (nine touchdown) favorites over Charleston Southern. Any team that plays Charleston Southern, Troy and Florida International in the same season and does not play the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the conference (Ole MIss and Alabama) should not be considered to play for a NC.

very pathetic. its so ridiculous how easy schedules the sec has, they need to man up and play some actual teams. but then again we always see how strength of schedule means crap next to an undefeated schedule. the pac 10 does not shy away from playing big ten and big 12 teams in the non conference schedule.

I think we should schedule similar teams. I think we should play Portland State, a mid level mid major school (Houston/Marshall) and a lower level BCS school (Purdue) every year. There's no reason not to. Come to think of it the beefers have really the best OOC schedule. We should have one similar to that every year. The only thing a hard schedule gets you is bragging rights. In the end, the pollsters don't care about OOC.

Since just about everyone gushes over SEC teams and others despite their OOC schedules, I tend to agree.

I was making fun of Florida's schedule, and especially how their non conf schedule is criminal. This is what some fan told me..
Our best Non-Conference opponent FSU is just as good as Oregon. But overall this should be a easier year withing the SEC being that we don't play Ole Miss, Auburn or even Miami. Georgia is going to have a down year with Stafford and Maroney leaving. We still have a tough schedule and I'm sure the SEC Champ game will be vs another top 5 caliber school.

Anyone else think an undefeated Duck team could be passed over for the NC in favor of a one loss SEC squad?

I would like to say no, but I wouldn't put it past computers and biased voters.

Doubtful a one loss SEC champ would ever be passed over. SEC is now ESPN owned and with the BCS games all heading to ESPN,...it's pretty clear where this is heading. Western sports viewing market share is not strong enough to counteract or overide SEspnC $$$$;

If any consolation here, Florida will finally have to travel out of state to win the BCS title, Texas looks to be the preordained challenger(IMO)

I'd like to see Florida denied the National Championship Game because their OOC schedule is so weak! I believe they should be #1 but it would be nice to see them prove it like pac10 teams have to.

I've been saying it for years...The SEC and their excuses for playing girlie teams ARE PATHETIC. They might as well give every SEC a 4-0 to start the season and quit trying to fool everyone into thinking their the greatest conference in history....It's total farce. They are the most OVERRATED conference in history !!

I hate the Huskies with a passion but I'm going to be their biggest fan when they play the LSU pussycats.

If they pool the other large markets together as they apparently have been discussing, they will have more sway than SEspnC.

Florida is a joke, they havent played a non conference road game outside of the state since 1991 in a loss versus Syracuse. Georgia and Tenn are the only two teams that will travel from that area.

LSU to Huskyville to try their luck against a Pac 10 powerhouse. :lol:
