"Brian- Mon Aug 24 2009 06:44 - Maybe it's just me, but living in L.A. I was under the assumption that the Rose Bowl berth was awarded to the champion of the PAC-10 Conference. With USC going AGAIN last year (nobody else seems up to the task of competing for the title), it could only take a LAME DUCK to blame the loss of a Rose Bowl berth on a loss to a mid major. Win a few more league games DUCKIES. The PAC-10 Champ will never get another National Championship berth with 9 sniveling underachievers who never consistently challenge for the crown. You could trade you 9 with the BIG EAST and you would never know the difference from a competitive point. "

Nice locker room post from a USC troll

Well, I have a comment...Right now..We need to go into Boise, blue turf and all and prove our superiority..Plain and simple..If we cant do that, then we need to sit down and stop the smack against BSU...However, if we do hand it to the Broncos, as we well should, they need to crawl back into the makeshift corral that they call home...and accept the fact...They are still just a mid-major school, with an impressive home victory record..Which means not a whole lot to anyone outside of Boise.
Respect is something that must be earned..To earn respect in the college football scene, you not only have to play quality teams, but also must prevail against those quality teams..Playing against WAC opponents just isnt gonna hack it.
How would BSU perform in a top tier D1 league? Who is to say..But, I do feel it is safe to say that they WOULD NOT be in the realm of flirting with undefeated seasons...
Its why we play the games....Let the smaller schools/programs have their shot and their moment of glory against the Big Boys of College Football....That is why we strive to play quality opponents in our pre-season schedule...As should BSU...
I applaude the Broncos for scheduling the Oregon Ducks...May the best team win...

I personally am reminded of a flooded feed lot when I look at Bronco stadium... The blue turf reminds me of the twilight sky reflected in the surface of a stagnant puddle.
Autzen Stadium... Where great teams go to die...Hard!
