Now lets look ahead Blount is gone so we dont need to worry about that situation anymore. Our coaches are passionate about what they do, even tho Allioti sucks lol but imo our defense did well for being on the field that much... Lets regroup as the great duck fans we are and be louder than ever to welcome our ducks on the field against purdue cause "we owe this team an ass whoopin" haha sorry I couldn't resist... If your with me give me a GO DUCKS!!!

The Defense played as well as it could, being on the field 3/4 of the game, and Boise just shot themselves in the foot with all those turnovers and gimmick plays. As for moving on, we will. It's just sad that it happened this way at this time.

I agree with you on that, but they had to punish him to the max to show the university doesn't condone those type of actions, so we can still have a shot with all those great recruits out there and their parents...

This decision has got to play well in homes where discipline and character are important.

I don't see how showing that if they mess up, they will be suspended for entire seasons communicates anything positive to any recruits or parents. Do Blount's parents feel that their son is being treated well by the program?

I agree. Since Hout didn't get punished, all this tells kids is you won't get punished if you push people around. Makes me sick. I still have a knot in my stomach because this is a kids life we're talking about.

Don't these people have PR people that give them advice? For goodness sake!!!! Let's crap a big one on the desk here. Way too quick to punishment. You must make an immediate statement that says "We do not condone the actions of LeGarrette Blount and are doing an immediate investigation". Let everybody in America have a chance to see every second of the tape and digest it. Take your few media hits, but let it settle for at least 2 days. The problem is, the world is focused on you because there are no other football games to distract them. Don't make an announcement until Sunday when everybody has watched other games.

Sunday rolls around and you toss Chris Peterson under the bus because he's not man enough to discipline his guy. Here's how I would have spun it "The University of Oregon has completed our investigation after speaking with many witnesses during the game and LeGarrette Blount is hereby suspended for 4 games, must attend anger management classes and complete 40 hours of community service at a Domestic Violence Shelter. We feel that taunting and retaliation violence is unacceptable and are taking steps to ensure this type of incident never happens again."

I won't bore you with more, but you get the idea. Problem is when you just react in order to save immediate face, it can backfire on you because you have to let things settle a little bit. My hope is that Chip can come back after 4 or 5 games and tell the public how wonderful LeGarrette is doing and make the statement that this young man has really made strides with repairing the relationship with the team and we want to give him another chance. How can you argue with that. Doesn't everybody deserve another chance?? I know he's messed up before, but I thank goodness I had second and third chances in my life.

It's not gone, ESPN will hit on it through today, it will be shown again the next time the Ducks are on ESPN, if Blount were to have returned, it would be shown again,...and if the Ducks make a post season game, guess what, it is out there again.

At least in the last episode the comment will be that the Ducks as a team, once again overcome adversity.

If we struggle this season we CAN NOT bring him back because it would only look like we were doing it to try to win games.

I think if it was just the punch, he would be out for a few games. But he tried to get to fans, he was pushing his own teammates and trying to get away from Scott Frost and the security officers. Unacceptable. I think it's a combination of all that that made Chip say why take a chance?

As far as PR goes, perception is reality. We're close to the program so we don't think the Ducks have taken a hit, but I haven't heard another national commentator say anything but suspend for the season. Right or wrong, if we don't do that, it's a lot of negative publicity. That's definitely not what we need right now.

Personally, I thought it should have been for half the season, but I can't say I'm too torn up about it. We'll just have to change Barner's name to LaKenyon and labackfield will continue!
