Mops or Jhop??? Heck anyone with the answer

Post by Spartan54 »

With Blount only playing in one game his senior year being only a 4 year sr with a redshirt year available and being suspended for entire year would he be able to receive some sort of redshirt from NCAA and come back next year?

No. He played too much to qualify for a normal redshirt, and he's not going to get a medical or hardship redshirt because it's the university's decision to suspend him.

In normal cases, yes he could be rewarded with an extra year. In this case, it won't happen till Hell Freezes over, melts, and re-freezes.

How? Why would they normally grant him an extra year if he played an entire game?

Because they'll award an extra year if you are injured in the first couple of games, but not for a suspension.

Well yeah, but it seems like mops was talking about something other than a medical redshirt.

Why not a medical redshirt? My medical insurance covers mental problems, why wouldn't they consider Blount's issue a medical issue of mental capacity? Dude fell apart menatally. Sad.

He would had to have been diagnosed with a mental disease to qualify for a medical redshirt. A temporary insanity won't work for the NCAA. Temporary insanity hardly ever works in court so I doubt the NCAA will accept it.

Is there some way he can appeal this suspension for a lesser one?

No. No one on the team has higher authority than Kelly, who was the one who handed down this punishment. Blount will never play in another Oregon game.

Where there is a will there is a way. I will be passing around a petition in the student section at the Purdue game. Look for the "BRING BLOUNT BACK" sign if you would like to demonstrate your forgiving nature as well.

You're right, I shouldn't say he won't play for us ever again. But he won't play for us UNLESS CK completely changes his mind.
