Re: C R E A M P U F F' S!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys realize there are a ton of creampuffs for the Ducks coming up, right? While Tennessee isn't, Portland State and New Mexico (who I think we play both next year) should be considered creampuffs. Plus, looking into the future, the only major teams of note that we're playing are Tennessee, Georgia, Kansas St and Texas A&M. At the moment, with the exception of Georgia, not exactly murderer's row.
Now that Bellotti is the AD, I expect to have one creampuff, one tough game, and one division 1 team from an easy conference. I would be shocked if we see such a tough out of conference schedule anytime soon.

I'm starting to get on the cream puff bandwagon too. I think as long as you beat the cream puff by 45+ points like you should, then it's no big deal.

There's no reason to not schedule creampuffs. You get no respect if you play tough OOC schedules because the Pac10 is "USC & the 9 dwarves". Its not worth it when you lose early to a good team cuz no one on the east coast cares. They see that you're a Pac 10 team & you have a loss. SEC & Big12 teams will get more respect 100% of the time even when they open with a bunch of D-2 schools. Just start every season 3-0. Why not? The loss to BSu was not worth it especially since we lost Blount.

Re: C R E A M P U F F' S!!!!!!!!!!!!
like i said in other post, We should schedule first game against team like Montana state or any creampuff team. So that way its easier to get vibe going on our O/D and let Everyone in team to have chance to play in a blowout game. Then Ducks will be more prepare to work on their mistake/or changing around players b4 2nd game against boise state or purdue. I cant blame ducks for wanting to schedule first game against Boise state for revenge. Now i hope they realized they should have put up creampuff team first b4 going against good team like Boise State, Right now im sure they are in pressure getting ready for purdue.

It's important to note that to most of the country, we ARE a creampuffdthomas=ddixon wrote:You get no respect if you play tough OOC schedules because the Pac10 is "USC & the 9 dwarves".

Not really. We were a top ten team last year and were ranked number two at one point the year before. Most of the country would not consider one of the consistently better teams in a BCS conference to be a cupcake.echo31 wrote:It's important to note that to most of the country, we ARE a creampuffdthomas=ddixon wrote:You get no respect if you play tough OOC schedules because the Pac10 is "USC & the 9 dwarves".
Most of the country doesn't think we're a powerhouse or an elite program, but I bet you even less people think we're a cupcake.

Oregon State jumped into the rankings after beating Portland State, while Oregon fell out after losing to Boise St. Exactly why it doesn't matter who you play outside of the conference.

Well, OSU was almost in the top 25 (I believe they were 26 or 27) so it's not surprising that after 1 win, they are in.duckgrad99 wrote:Oregon State jumped into the rankings after beating Portland State, while Oregon fell out after losing to Boise St. Exactly why it doesn't matter who you play outside of the conference.

If we beat Purdue big we should move back in and then if we beat Utah we should move up a little more then we have Cal so Oregon could move up quickly if they are able to get back to knowing how to play football!

Re: C R E A M P U F F' S!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that it would be great if the Ducks could do that, but it sounds like a very tall order at this time. Heck, the team has yet to prove that they can even make a first down in the first half of a game nonetheless win one. So, one baby step at a time is probably more appropriate now. That said...gofightingducks wrote:If we beat Purdue big we should move back in and then if we beat Utah we should move up a little more then we have Cal so Oregon could move up quickly if they are able to get back to knowing how to play football!

No accounting for changes in time. When these schedules were set years ago, I seriously doubt anyone would have presumed BSU or Utahs raise to power. Purdue looked to be the marque game. My how things have changed.

Well after the way we played, I don't see why we deserve to be in the top 25. With that being said, I don't see why OSU beating Portland State gains them any ground...duckgrad99 wrote:Oregon State jumped into the rankings after beating Portland State, while Oregon fell out after losing to Boise St. Exactly why it doesn't matter who you play outside of the conference.
