How about that defense

Post by Quietduck »

Can we agree this week that this is a good defensive game so far today. Also I think our O is starting to gel.

I notice a lot of improvement on our D, Good tackling. Our LBers play with speed. Bair is really big for us on D-line, im proud of them. I think it will be real test for our D when Cal is coming to Autzen.

Our Offense, Man Homles need to stop snap high ball, it hurt us in red zone when we could score TD. Masoli still make mental mistake, not seruce the ball really well. Mental mistake happen but we can't afford that. they scored 3 time on our Turnover, that's not good.

Our defense was the reason for the win today. They gave the offense multiple chances to take this game over and even when Utah cut it to a 4 point game, they came up with a turnover and another stop

The D has won 2 games in a row for the Ducks
Couldn't say that last year.

Thought the defense played very well. The announcers kept repeating how tired the Ducks must be, but 2 interceptions in the 4th, just great play IMO.

The D played fantastic. I still can't believe Javes Lewis didn't at least tip that ball. But overall, the defense played their assignments well, covered zones properly, and most of all tackled well.

Cain was 20-of-41 for 178 yards and 2 interceptions. Running back Matt Asiata was held to 54 yards on 15 attempts. Awesome! And did any Utah player catch a ball on Thurmond all day? That guy is amazing.

It is strange seeing the defense carry our team. I can't believe how gratifying it is to see them get some 3 and outs. I forgot what that was like.

Seriously. It was so different seeing that. A great feeling though, seeing our D shut someone down.

If the D can show that well against Cal, I will seriously start to get optimistic... Again.

I thought the D played really well. A lot better tackling this week than last couple weeks. Bair stepped big as well as Thurmond. That guy is all over the place. A real warrior. The linebackers were awesome! Pace, Matthews and Pleasant are playing great together.

However, Masoli, Masoli, Masoli... 4 for 16 with an INT?? I don't think Costa should start, but show me something. Not a single passing TD this year and we're done with a quarter of the season. We are going to need better QB play to beat Cal, it doesn't matter what the defense does.

stop making this a bad forum like others out there. Did I call you out in a post? Did I say anything bad about the defense after today's game? That's what I thought moron.

I think we all need to settle down and enjoy the fact that, inspite of Titanic struggles on offense, the improved D has helped make the Ducks competitive the last 2 weeks.

If a couple more pieces fall into place this week, Things could get real interesting, quick!

Think how much more enjoyable last season might have been had the D been playing this well overall.
