Not a huge gain for the first overall pick, but at least it is something. Porter looks to have taken a solid first step. Porter may always be compared to last year’s first overall pick with both he and Tatum being very similar in profile and appearance coming out. That being said it is way too early to may any sort of long term comparisons between the two but this is one link to keep an eye on. The rise in defense shows progress, but it will take time before we see if he is the franchise changing player.

The second pick is an interesting case. He was talked about the next great post after Embiid. He was picked to be an offensive juggernaut but he looks more like a solid defensive post. Worst case scenario still looks to be an excellent rebounding post. Ayton is very young, at just 20 and still looks to have plenty of room left to grow.

The third overall pick is where things get very interesting. Sexton took a huge step forward at this camp. The Bulls look to have established a much very good young core to work around. A huge step in defense has made Sexton out to be the next great thing at the guard position. The Bulls certainly hit a homerun here.

Now we arrive at the first very concerning progression. Bamba looked to be on the edge of the B/B- rebounding line coming out but you always hope for progression. This however did not happen. Bamba was made out to be a defensive standout but that did not change, his offense was not really talked up but that did take a solid step forward. The debate between Bamba and the Donic in the Knick’s draft room seems to have made the wrong decision given the progressions below. Certainly a mixed bag.

The Bulls hit it big this draft between Doncic and Sexton. He made strides in both defense and in his outside shot. You cannot characterize this as anything short of a steal given the mixed bag that Bamba turned out to be. Luka looks to at worst being a very solid rotation options at SG/SF. Even at this point he is a low end starter. Excellent pickup by the Bulls.

Miami looks to have picked up the second coming of Dwyane Wade. This slasher looks primed to not be stopped down the lane. His defensive progression is a very solid sign that he is ready to step into a starting role very very soon.

Williams looks like a very solid pickup. His progression on the defensive end look promising. He was billed as only decent potential and his progression may indicate he can break through this label.

Another mixed back out here in the mid lottery. A gain in his handling ability at the same time that his defensive dropped. Overall this is a poor trade in the ratings and this is a rather concerning development. Players as young as Knox, in their teens, you can see both significant jump in their potential and also significant drop in potential. Here, it seems to risk has not paid off.

As was mentioned above, it can be a big risk and raw potential for players in their teens. This change can be as much as 20 up or down. It is a big risk for taking such a player but the rewards can be large as well. As with above the regression above, I cannot characterize this as any less than a disappointment. Both progressions here at nine and eight is quite concerning.

McCoy set up to be a ready made player with hinted potential that could surprise. This surprise honestly has not appeared and unless things changes quickly McCoy he could be stagnated in short order. The change in defense is at least some sign of life but I’m certain that the ‘6ers were hoping for more.

Speaking of stagnation, the Oregon product seems to have not made any progress during the offseason workouts. While he did go pro with a very solid outside shot with some semblance of an inside threat, it does look like he may be limited to only a rotational role in the Guard/Forward crew.

Outstanding development from the late Lottery kid for the Hawks. He made considerable strides in both his inside finishing and his defense. This adds to an already balanced game and he has been showing a more room to grow than previously envisioned.

Late in the lottery you take the good with the bad, here the defensive standout didn’t show any progress this year, there is time, but not a good first step.

Very similar to the previous pick in Bridges, this defensive standout did not make the progress that was hoped. Moreover it even looks like he even took a step back in terms his overall top end growth potential.

Steady progression from the newly-minted Hornet. His increase in both offense, defense and his apparent increase in his overall ceiling beats several of the lottery prospects. One of the better picks in the mid round.

What else to say but with the exception of Embiid, the Nuggets have struggled to find any sort of significant success in the lottery to mid round.

As said above, anytime you take a teenager you run the risk of a great implosion. At the same time you run the risk of having him take significant jump. Here we very well may see a huge jump in his potential and big steal here in the midround. With an increase in the inside, defense, rebounding and in the apparent potential, I would suspect that this is exactly what happened. The bulls may have had a draft for the ages.

I loved the Bulls position in the lotto, let alone the draft. Amazing TCs for their rookies is just wrong lol.

Didn't realize Bonga went up +4. Sexton is definitely going to be a stud. Doncic preseason was impressive. Sexton and Doncic 6.9 TO's though. WSC/Bonga/Doncic/Sexton is a great start for a rebuild. Hoping to do a magic style rebuild when they had to top 5 picks.


Also really like what Hawks got as far as value. I had Ayton ranked as #2 prospect in this draft. And surprised by Bruce Brown's development
