5 star QB Dante Moore trending to UO? Edit: NOOOOOO!!

Steve Wiltfong put in a CB for Oregon. Usually I don't care about the crystal ball stuff too much, but that one is a big deal.

It's big especially with him supposedly coming to Eugene this weekend.

Apparently we are now the favorites to land him, let's hope that if he does commit he plays extremely well.

Our last 5 star QB didn't exactly light the college football world on fire. But he's young...

I don't think he's a future pro, but I think he can win a lot of college games if surrounded by talent at a place like Oregon. Darron Thomas ceiling, IMO.

IMO, there’s often a difference between a top 10 prospect and a top 50 prospect.

You could make the argument Moore looks better than Iamaleava and Manning.

I don't see NFL arm strength or accuracy, hence the DT comparison. Both are 'good,' but neither is 'great.'

Haven’t really watched highlights just went off the stars, though it seems QB is the most miss poorly ranked position for recruiting. I still don’t know how Ty Thompson was a 5 star but Justin Herbert was a 3 star.

4* QB Avery Johnson is committing July 5th so that'd be another QB off of Oregon's board, leaving just Moore as the only 4* or 5* QB that'll still be available on their board.

TT wasn't a consensus 5star and I believe he was only rated 5 stars on rivals later in the year. Nonetheless, early consensus 5 star qbs routinely strike out in the college.

I say this every year, probably a few times a year. QBs are rated for what they do and look like at summer camps in t-shirts and shorts, not for the heights they lead their teams to in the fal and the film they put together.. That's why rankings are so bad.

TT is a hulk, but he's always had accuracy problems and doesn't come off his first read. At summer camp, you only really saw those first four words.

I'd gladly take a DT-caliber QB! He might be the most underrated player in Oregon history. Excellent leader & decision maker and *enough* accuracy/strength to dominate at the college level. Would have likely won us a natty had Chip not been so stubborn about running the ball.

Also, decision making is the most underrated stat when talking about QB recruits.
Willie Taggart is a dick.

Moore reminds me more of Teddy Bridgewater than Thomas. I liked how DT lead the team, but he wasn’t winning games himself. He had arguably the best RB duo in school history and DAT that teams had to worry about.

I'd gladly take a DT. If you can hit on a Mariota from time to time, amazing, but getting high floor guys should be routine at Oregon.
