Re: WR recruiting question
I don't think we NEED any. We are pretty deep as it is right now. I think we would like to GET 2-3. Right now I would settle for 1 or 2 (Hall would be my first choice and I would love to have Gaines and/or Jefferson, if they qualify). Just my opinion

Re: WR recruiting question
I forgot to add we already have Tuinei and possibly Jackson so I think we are ok at WR. Yes it would be nice to have got Wheaton and it would be nice to get Johnson, Gaines, Jefferson, Patterson and Hall but I would like to get Boyd, Harris and Brown and I will be happy with this class. 2010 is looking like a good recruiting class with a lot of WR interest and if Masoli and the Ducks have a great year with more passing yards we will land all of the WR's we need next year!!!!!

Re: WR recruiting question
I think it would be nice to get in a JC WR (Gaines). We need an immediate impact player. Because right now I see Davis and Maehl as our 2 solid starters. We need someone else to step up.Boom wrote:How many WR's do we need/want in this class?
We probably wanted to land 3 guys. We already got Tunei, so add in 2 more and we are good to go.

Dont forget about Harper. I can see him being a contributor next fall.UOducksTK1 wrote:I think it would be nice to get in a JC WR (Gaines). We need an immediate impact player. Re: WR recruiting question
I would agree with TK1, two with Tunei. If we get Gaines maybe a 3rd. I believe Tunei had 4 to play 3 since he was a academic qualifier. So he will have time to develope if need be, but it really depends on who we actually get. I think Tunei will be a stud and is going to be one of the studs from this class. Diamond in the rough for sure but I dont know if he can come in and contribute right away. Im kind of torn with Harper cause I dont know where he fits best in CKs system. He was one dimensional at QB, but he was a true freshman. He showed flashes of what he could do at WR but wasnt a big impact player, but he didnt practice that position all spring and summer so who knows with a full offseason to prepare maybe he will be our answer at the position. I just hope Holland, Harper, Maehl, and Davis progress. It really sucks that Davis tore his ACL though when he was starting to come on strong.

Re: WR recruiting question
Nobody seems to have an update on Gaines. Neither scout, rivals, or espn have had any updates since his visit to us..duckgrad99 wrote:Hasn't Gaines cooled on Oregon or isn't supposed to qualify?

Looks like a job for Mops, now that he's interviewing everyone and their dog's cousin...
