I said Gabriel isn’t the problem, sadly Pickard was, and going forward with him not playing C and Poncho playing C with someone else at guard is what this team needs to do going forward. I just think Moore will end up better. BUT I hope I’m wrong! I texted friends Boise State was going to win tonight and I couldn’t be happier that I was wrong! I’ll be a duck fan the day until I die no matter how the team is performing.
First off, what band are called? Armchair quarterback? If that's offensive than my god your skin is softer than a newborn baby.

2nd, from the way you talk, I would think you're an Oregon state or Washington fan. All you do is hate in this team. You did it last year when they were making a legit run for the playoffs, and it's carried over to this year.
Lol no I’m not sensitive, I’m still on this forum with posts like that. But calling us armchair QB’s is hilarious, did anyone say “I’m better than Gabriel”? I’m aware that if I started Ducks would’ve lost 34-14 with the only points coming from special teams.

I have sung the praises of many players and coaches and this team, I was one of the few people defending Don Pellum as DC, and I was sure wrong there. But I’m also not someone who just thinks Oregon is the best at all areas all the time. I have opinions, I share them on an open ducks forum…..where you are supposed to post opinions. I still never leave duck games early, watch every game and CARE no matter the record or score, and never turn off games early. Yeah I can be negative and overreact, but I absolutely freakin LOVE the Oregon Ducks and always will, even if they go 0-12.

LOL @ “last year.” It’s been like 5 years straight of this nonsense. I especially like the “I told you so…” when something is going bad. That’s pretty easy when you complain about how horrible things are every week. Sadly Oregon is actually struggling this season and he doesn’t go away once Oregon goes up multiple scores like the previous few years.

That was a super frustrating game but I saw a lot of positives in the second half. We were opening holes and protecting the QB finally*. You see the talent at WR. The linebackers actually made plays and our defenders overall make plays on the ball, which I haven't seen in eons. Now it's time to gel.

Glad you brought up the LB’s, Devon Jackson is a stud! Did not see him taking Jestin Jacob’s starting job at all this season let alone this quickly.

I wouldn’t have expected any less. Haha. I think I’d call you a liar if you ever said you believed the Ducks would pull out a close game.

Haha! I never feel confident in close games. I did text that way before the game started, felt that way all week but didn’t share it on this forum. I need to go watch tape of Oregon State before determining that game but if Ducks don’t improve quickly this week could be in another nail biter, though I do think that Boise State is a better team than Oregon State.

You didn't have to share it on this forum, everyone here already knew.

Boise State will finish the season in the top 25. Oregon state won't. Like I said, I think you're an Oregon state fan, but I think you're in denial

I wonder if anyone noticed that the offense kind of opened up after Boise's safety got booted for targeting? Looked like a pretty big loss for their side.

I think it opened up when they stopped playing a walk-on at center. The Herbert fumble, followed by said walk on snapping early leading to another turnover, derailed the offense then they were able to close it out.

My guess is it was moving the OLine around that was the biggest help, but still the offense only put up 9 points in the second half, gotta get much better going forward.

FYI I went back and rewatched it, it was Limar that picked up the ball in the endzone after Whittington dropped it too early on the kickoff return. Nice call!

When you score on special teams, it takes away an offensive possession. That is at least partly to blame for the lack of points by the offense in the second half.

I agree with the previous post pointing out there were reasons to be optimistic about the second half performance. If you look beyond the mistakes that sabotaged drives, there was plenty to be encouraged by in key areas. Most of the disastrous mistakes are very correctable, rather than it being primarily a lack of capability. There is hope, unless you think this low IQ, mistake prone play is just the way it is going to be this season. That would basically be the complete opposite of last season, so I'm leaning more towards things improving in those areas.

Yeah that’s true about the special teams, but Oregon did have 6 possessions in the second half and only scored on the first and last against a team that gave up 45 to Georgia Southern. I still think the offense drastically underperformed today and needs to figure things out fast. Hopefully simply moving Poncho back to C and putting in Strothers and Hebert holding onto the ball will fix a lot going into the Civil War next week.

Hopefully Bedford will come back soon and give the coaches more options. I'm still pretty hopeful they can get into the swing of things by the time conference games start.
