It looks like Oregon opened as 16.5 point favorites.

I think ducks will actually cover that, I do think we’ll see a better Oregon team. I don’t think they’ll cover it a ton and look like natty contenders, but my hope is the coaches have found a more consistent OLine with Poncho at C and Strother at G and that will result in an improved offense. Beavers will have the best defense we’ve faced this season so it won’t be easy, but they seem to be lacking on offense. I haven’t watched a condensed replay of their game vs the Aztecs so I don’t have the full picture but I’ll say we’ll see a score of 31-13 Oregon.

This is a game I would take the under. OSU is better on defense than offense as it's QB's are mediocre passers and their running backs are not even close to the BSU guy.

Two weeks ago I was at the new Reser Stadium with my Grandson taking a Campus tour. It's a nice facility. (My Grandson is a D1 rower. OSU at this point still has Men's D1 rowing whereas it is a club sport at UO.)

Playing the poodles at the end of every season will change that I suppose.

I think we're going to see a motivated team that starts to find its footing on Offense this week while I think the Defense is going to feast.

I'm predicting a big win this week. The O line will continue to show some issues, but I predict major improvements this week. 45 - 13 Oregon

A few things Beavers have done well:
-Eat the clock. Ducks will need to be careful not to allow Beavers to grind the clock on long drives.
-Defense. The shutout @ San Diego State is very impressive.
-Run the ball. It's rather amazing with how much they lost, that their backs have been able to look pretty good so far.

Of course, most schools would look good against Idaho State and SDSU. But these are definitely their strengths. Oregon needs to dominate the trenches and force OSU to beat them in the air.

Other random notes:
-McCoy has only been sacked once.
-Beavs have only turned the ball over once.
-Their kicker is 1 of 3 on the year.
-Only two passing touchdowns so far.

Isn't San Diego.State considered a mid-tier team at best in the MWC?

Throw out all rational thought. It is still the Civil War, anything can happen.

For sure, they're projected similarly to Hawaii, who outplayed UCLA most the game. So still impressive IMO to go on the road and shut out any mountain west team. Beavers first road shut out since 1983.

Totally agree, just saying their shut out of SDSU may not be that impressive. Not that the Boise State performance was spectacular either!Image

Yup! I will say though, the meh performances against Idaho and Boise State have changed our perspective on this game. I imagine players/coaches are no longer overlooking this matchup (compared to maybe a few weeks ago).

Notre Dame and Idaho provide excellent examples of ‘overlooking’ . One ended up okay, one didn't.

I am guessing Dan will remind the team of this multiple times during the week.

Also not to take away from OSU’s impressive defensive performance against SDSU, but SDSU’s QB did fumble the ball at the 1 yard line. While it was good, easily could not have been a shutout. SDSU looks like they’ll be one of the bottom teams in the MWC this year, their QB is struggling quite a bit.
