This is the last currently ranked team on the schedule. The computers have this and at Wisconsin as the 2 most likely to upset the Ducks so I think the team will be ready. I also think if they do get upset it will not be to one of those 2 but to an emotional UW or a Michigan trying to save face in a rough season.

Went over to an Illinois board and read their pregame thread. They seemed like good fans and well grounded.

Four decades ago I spent what seemed like a long year one week at a seminar at U of I in Champaign Urbana so I guess I'm a micro Alumni.

I could see a possible upset at Mich but UW in Autzen not so sure.

Unlike his predecessor, Dan seems to be pretty good at keeping them focused and there are enough guys left on the team who remember UW from last year.

Hard to speculate at this point because you never know with injuries and such .

After seeing the Autzen crowd last game, I feel good that they're going to be just as in it for a #1 vs #20 matchup.

For those of you who follow the NFL Draft/Scouting, I've always enjoyed Rob Staton of SeahawksDraftBlog.com and he had this blurb about Illinois Center

— Josh Kreutz the Illinois center is showing a lot of promise. He anchored the line well against Michigan — handling Kenneth Grant with ease and holding his own against top-10 pick Mason Graham. While it’s true Graham also had his wins — including a rag-doll push-pull move in the second quarter — Kreutz played fundamentally sound football, understood his assignments and did a mostly terrific job blocking straight-on. He’s tough, physical and was able to move defenders off the spot to creating running lanes. His pass-pro was sound. He’s not a center who loves to get up to the second level or move around to block in space but I think there’s a lot to like here. His father is the famous former Bears center Olin Kreutz — so he has the best bloodlines imaginable. I think he could be a day-two pick. He’s a fourth-year junior so might not declare but I hope he does. I want Seattle to build a leadership core through a tough, physical offensive line. Kreutz has the kind of playing mentality that fits that idea. He’s my fourth ranked center behind Logan Jones, Jake Majors and Parker Brailsford.

I don't see the Ducks losing at home in the regular season. My biggest concern is still Wisconsin. Michigan is a dumpster fire right now. Maryland is a 3 td win. Wisconson is a trap if there ever was one. Washington at home after a loss at home by 3 and at Montlake by 3 last year won't be competitive either. So, Camp Randall for those of you who have been there is a pretty darn hard place to play.

The more I think about it the UW at home game is probably the game I have the most faith in. After the last 2 years, the rivalry, and UW is likely going to be riding a winning streak with the easy schedule they have coming up the only fear should be we might be too hyped up. As high as both teams will likely be take the over on personal fouls.

I'll be pretty disappointed with anything less than about a 17 point win this week.

And not to derail this thread too much, but regarding facing UW the last currently scheduled game of the year, I don't see an easy schedule for them and certainly nothing more than a 1-game winning streak coming into Autzen. The currently 4-3 Huskies are at #13 Indiana this week, then they host USC, then at (currently #3) Penn State, and then they host UCLA before coming to Autzen. If they don't beat USC in Seattle, it seems highly likely that we'd be looking at a team fighting for a bowl bid when they come to Autzen on November 30. (Also kind of odd that UW hosts both of the L.A. schools.)

I hate to disagree with you grandpa but with this schedule coming up for the Huskies, I only see 1 maybe 2 wins tops.

He may have been looking at the wrong schedule. It does remain to be seen how Indiana will handle losing their starting QB, so I wouldn't just automatically be giving them any wins moving forward.

I can't remember the last time I ever rooted for the Doogs, but I will definitely be rooting for them to beat USC. From an Oregon perspective, the benefits of USC losing as much as possible far outweighs the alternative.

Don't hate to disagree, I disagree too, I must have had someone elses schedule in my mind. Checking. I was thinking of USC who had 5 winnable games before Notre Dame (But lost the first of those 5 to Maryland). Yeah very unlikely UW is riding any streak and might not even be within reach of .500 when we play them.

As much as I'd like to see "strong west coast football," seeing uw fail is non-negotiable and seeing the same from USC is just so hilarious it's hard to want it to change.

Something like a pathetic 6-3 score in which each offense looks inept and the poodles only score at the end because of USC fumbling it away would be the most ideal outcome I suppose, with their fans storming the field to get to 5-4.
