Possibly relevant regarding who we might face, but Ohio State's starting center may be out with an Achilles injury suffered in practice. Sucks to have anyone go down like that, but Ohio State was already having O-line issues and this won't help them keep pace with Indiana.

The 2024–25 College Football Playoff (CFP) marks the inaugural season of the expanded 12-team format. The schedule is as follows:

Looking at the way the playoff bracket is shaping up, it might be better to lose the conference championship game. The loser likely gets a 5 seed and would play Boise State at home and then likely face the Big 12 champ. The winner gets the 1-seed and probably has to play an SEC team like Alabama (after a 1st round bye).

There is. As it currently stands, the big12 Champ would be outside the top 12, so Boise State would get the 4 seed, and the big12 champion gets the 12 seed.

The rules for the 12 team playoffs were made prior to conference realignment. I have a feeling next year will be the last year we see this format and 2026 we see a 14 team playoff with the B1G and SEC champs getting a first round bye, similar to the NFL playoffs. But it is crazy for the champ of the ACC and Big-12 to be rewarded so much when those conferences are so weak compared to the B1G and SEC.

If Indiana played at home, I think the chance that they boat race Ohio State goes from 0.1% to 5%. I can imagine Indiana being super hyped for this game and maybe creates enough havoc early to get some turnovers and put the pressure of tOSU. Indiana has playmakers all over the field, offense and defense.

Biggest question on each side of the ball for me is who can block who can block who. Indiana has an unremarkable OL, and tOSU has a crew of future NFL players. Oppositely, tOSU just lost either their second or third starter on their offensive line this week to an achilles injury in practice, and Indiana's DL is no joke. Their interior DL is good, which is where a lot of underdogs struggle when playing the bigger programs, but I don't think will be the case here.
