Because medical redshirts are nearly automatically awarded if a player misses an entire session like Bedford did this year. Nothing has been announced because the NCAA won’t make any decision until the offseason if Bedford and Oregon submitted the request.buckmarkduck wrote:Why are people so sure Bedford can come back? I haven’t seen anything about him being granted another year.StevensTechU wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 12:50 pm What do the recruitniks say with regard to Johnson committing? Are we still pushing for Max Klare or another highly regarded TE?
I wonder if Harney might move inside. Seems like he and Bedford could both play guard or tackle, while maybe neither is a world beater at either (or World beater, in the case of Isaiah).

My crazy idea is that Conerly decides to return and Harkey takes over at LG. Conerly-Hakey-Laloulu-Iuli-World

To be honest, I'm going to spend the off-season resetting my expectations for the line. World wasn't a first teamer in the mountain west, and after watching his film, I get it. He's super athletic but leans, lunges, and has bad feet. Harkey looks lost sometimes, and isn't terribly powerful. They're both fine, but I'm gonna hope Fox Crader has an excellent year in the weight room.Duck07 wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2024 10:23 am My crazy idea is that Conerly decides to return and Harkey takes over at LG. Hythloday will die on the hill that portal transfer OLineman, especially tackles, shouldn’t start their first year at a new school, and I don’t know that much but that looks certainly true for World. I wonder if he’s a backup or if Terry thinks one offseason is enough to get him to play to his potential cause no matter what I believe next season is his last season.StevensTechU wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2024 10:41 amTo be honest, I'm going to spend the off-season resetting my expectations for the line. We definitely need to be led by our G-C-G trio inside while whoever plays OT develops on the job. Dan was saying nice things about Dave Iuli recently so I think we're going to start reaching the point this January and Spring where these younger OL start to stand-out.

Hopefully Bear behaves! Tons of talent at a position of need. Cautiously optimistic.

What has he done at other stops? I get being a kid, and it’s the NIL era, but has he had real issues? Or just needs coaching on the field?UOducksTK1 wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 9:16 am Hopefully Bear behaves! Tons of talent at a position of need. Cautiously optimistic.

I've read in the past that his work ethic isn't that great, and be can be entitled. Whether or not that's true, I don't know.buckmarkduck wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 5:41 pmWhat has he done at other stops? I get being a kid, and it’s the NIL era, but has he had real issues? I think CDL has a really good system in place for guys like this.buckmarkduck wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 5:41 pmWhat has he done at other stops? Guessing Dan thought about these sorts of things. Dan is astute and knows what’s being said out there.squintsdd wrote:I've read in the past that his work ethic isn't that great, and be can be entitled. Holden and Stewart were rumored to be difficult too. Certainly Holden has had a couple of issues but Dan seems to have handled them pretty effectively.

I see this as we either get the best version of Bear or he's gone by Fall Camp and I don't think there's an in-between.

Re: Ducks Transfer Portal - 2024-25
Purdue tight end Max Klare has committed to Ohio State. Seems like the Ducks never really made much of a run at him.
Ohio State had a big day in the portal, getting Klare, a 240lb running back from West Virginia, and a FCS defensive end who had 19.5 TFLs on the season. They're going to be a behemoth every year in the NIL era.
