The Dan Lanning mystique is taking a bruising. Hope this doesn’t damage future portal opportunities.

I was worried about this for weeks, you cannot take a month off of football and stroll back in like no big deal. Sorry, we got f’d

Small chance tOSU has taken their foot off the gas, will have a hard time maintaining urgency in the 2nd half, and we weasel our way back into this game. Gotta score to start the 2nd half.

Never liked him, never will. He is unimaginative and predictable. Players bail out his poor schemes and his reliance on the pistol is atrocious. But otherwise…great guy.OregonFan4Life wrote: Wed Jan 01, 2025 4:24 pm Serious question, I know it’s one game, but does anyone on this team like Will Stein still? It’s a legit question.

Stein succeeds because of the quality of his players. He fails because his plays and schemes often do not mesh with the talent. I do not see innovation, just the same even when we clobber other teams.

Both coordinators today have not been good. However, I lean more towards the side that the offense play calling could be stronger. Let’s just say I wouldn’t be upset if Stein left.

Haha yeah good call. I’d gladly trade Stein for Chip.

Gotta say it, what do wanna bet both Stein and Tosh have standing job offers? This feels just like the Utah games, they have checked out

I will say this. Knowles and Day basically revamped their entire defense based on what we did to them in October. So far it looks like that’s giving us fits. No one open mid-deep and Downs just floating around being instinctive. Knowles is an elite DC so we all knew this was coming.
Also, I like Herbie and it completely sucks Ben passed, but my God, his passive aggressive love for his Alma Mater /hometown team when they get up in big games he’s calling gets annoying. Especially when you are a fan of the team getting its ass kicked.

I still haven’t seen Stewart on the field. Sick? Discipline?GDuck wrote: Wed Jan 01, 2025 3:47 pm What’s with Stewart? He’s not been out there. Bryant and Lowe have been.

Disagree. This performance by our D is as piss poor as any game I can remember (maybe the Oregon State game Lanning’s first year rivals this?). Oregon has the horses to slow OSU’s offense. Much worse teams have consistently made OSU’s offense look mediocre. We don’t even belong on the field today. I’d love an analysis from someone smarter than me after the game about what we tried to take away from OSU and how. I’m seeing Oregon outnumbered (and outplayed) on the LOS, around the edges, and downfield.GDuck wrote:Both coordinators today have not been good. Yeah, don’t like it, but it is ESPN. Expect it. Did u think you would get anything different this game? I called it on another thread, that we would have to deal with Herbie’s homerism this game. Wearing a red tie and all. Guess all UO needs to do, is get an average college QB with some broadcasting chops, and get them in a national booth.bdkipe wrote: Wed Jan 01, 2025 4:55 pm I will say this. This might be even uglier than the 2022 UGA game. At least in that one, we knew Oregon would be overmatched. For this team to get their butts handed to them like this is just shocking. It feels like a back to the drawing board moment for the program this offseason. The format of the CFP did Oregon absolutely no favors just like all the other teams that had a month long wait to play.

I agree, the performance is clearly awful. UT put up a tougher fight so far.
This looks like an NFL team playing a middle school team right now, and it shouldn't be that way at this level, even with how hot osu has been.
