Re: Other Guys Transfer Portal - 2024-25
It looks like he's close to signing with ucla now, but if this weren't about money, he would've signed already.
In other news, Colorado is losing their freshman all American center, for what looks like a really dumb reason on their part. Since he's a walk-on, it sounds like their refusing to give him a scholarship

Ex-UCLA QB Joey Aguilar switching spots with Iamaleava and going to Tennessee.
Fitting ending to this.

Straight trade or will there be a player to be named later?bellsduck wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:16 pm Ex-UCLA QB Joey Aguilar switching spots with Iamaleava and going to Tennessee.

Iamaleava's younger brother, who flipped from UCLA to Arkansas at the end of his recruitment, is also heading to UCLA now.

And this is just baffling to me. The kid didn't play his senior year of high school, and likely will be sitting behind his brother for at least 2 more years. After spring i'm guessing he didn't sit high in the depth chart at Arkansas, leading to to a transfer already, which would imply he wants early playing time. Is he going to be content not getting meaningful playing time for at least 3 seasons? This family is all over the place. I foresee another transfer from him.StevensTechU wrote: Tue Apr 22, 2025 7:25 am Iamaleava's younger brother, who flipped from UCLA to Arkansas at the end of his recruitment, is also heading to UCLA now.

I don't know, but you might be overthinking this and that he's just going to UCLA to be on the same team as his brother.squintsdd wrote: Tue Apr 22, 2025 8:08 amAnd this is just baffling to me. And that's likely the case, but it just seems to lack of forward thinking.StevensTechU wrote: Tue Apr 22, 2025 7:33 pmI don't know, but you might be overthinking this and that he's just going to UCLA to be on the same team as his brother.squintsdd wrote: Tue Apr 22, 2025 8:08 amAnd this is just baffling to me. Re: Other Guys Transfer Portal - 2024-25
I read an article about that earlier. It would be against NCAA rules, but that might not hold up if he really wanted to do it.
My thought is that "if" that were to happen, he should really transfer to another school. Travis Hunter is gone and he'd need to prove that he could perform at a high level without being under his Dad's wing.

At this point he might be better off going undrafted and signing a a free agent. He can control where he plays, just like him and daddy wanted, and he would likely end up with a better contract situation after a couple of seasons

Apparently it wouldn't be without precedent to return to college since a Punter did it a few years ago, but Covid may have played into that.
